I have done it finally!! The problem was the A10Mod Bios! was setting HDD as Disk0 and not Disk1 so just flashed back to A10 and worked first go ?

before win install (shift f10 cmd) i ran diskpart to create partition on SSD so i didn't have the 100mb sys partition. So now i have SSD - system HDD - Primary I didn't use "" when doing mklink so will try again now. when reinstalling windows is a diskpart quick format ok for ssd or is there another tool i should use? been following guide in SS 1. Booted with windows 7 Media, chose repair windows 2. choose command prompt 3. copy users to hdd (C:\ (SSD) drive became D:\ and C:\ Storage HDD)) robocopy "D:\Users" "C:\Users" /mir /xj /e 4. rmdir D:\users /Q /S (you might want to just rename it in case there are porblems) 5. mklink /J D:\users C:\users (C:\ (SSD) drive became D:\ and C:\ Storage HDD) restart and you should see your users directory on the data drive after restart windows loads to login screen stating "load profile or something" gets stuck there. After yet another install after all the steps windows boots to login screen so i type in password "The User Profile Service service failed the logon." User profile cannot be loaded arghhh

Bought myself a Vertex 120gb SSD today and having trouble mklink user dir to storage drive. SSD has been installed in drive 1 near battery but for some reason in diskpart it shows as disk 1 and HDD is disk 0 When in window repair cmd recovery HDD (disk0) is showing as C: and windows(SSD) as D: If I run mklink d:\User c:\User /j when windows boot it keeps stating cannot load profile Any help would be great

Thanks to steve1ddd Got it working on M17xR2. Just download and install this. Drivers and Downloads And follow steve1ddd's instructions. Works without any problem so far. In Windows MP change options in pref & Visualisations Itunes Copy c:\Program files\Alienware\commandcenter\Media plugin\Itunes\WiTunesAlienFXPlugin.dll to C:\Users\[YOUR PROFILE NAME]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes Plug-ins\ Then open itunes and go to VIEW select Visualizer...select "Alienware Alien FX" ...... YOU MUST CLICK "show visulizer" or it wont work....ez way is jsut to togle back and forth with "CTL T"....

Hey all guess what i dropped my M17xR2 on my floorboards off the bed. It landed on the back corner and fell flat on the top of the screen! (laptop was closed) What is a surprise is there is not One mark on it and is working perfectly! It took a might chunk of wood out of the floorboards however! It pays to have an aluminum case!!! i wonder how the R3 would hold up I nearly Man cried!! and can still not believe it happened as i am sooo careful with it. Alienware Gods watching over me lol

FYI the icon pack is awesome dude but there is some file in one of the dll's that corrupts the sound (possible 5033.wav) the uninstall didn't fix this either. I will try and make a new pack with your files at some point have just use system restore to roll back before it was installed which fixes the problem. The Alien screen saver does that with my machine sometimes i just do the preview thing (i reckon it was made when Vista was around) Thanks for for the files Getfound

The icon x64 pack has stuffed up my sound? i have uninstall pack but now just get hissing out of my speakers
