  1. A quick search of the forum would have returned this thread http://forum.techinferno.com/general-notebook-discussions/3951-675mx-770m.html
  2. Ok great, so educate me/us, Clevo Nvidia cards can be flashed to a Dell vBIOS and have full support for fan control and displayport? Any reason to choose Dell cards over Clevo cards for Nvidia then?
  3. I can pull 175W from the wall on my 150W PSU when running benchmarks or gaming so the mo/bo is certainly able to handle more. Possibly more still if using a 240W PSU. You might have heat issues running a 100W card overclocked though. EDIT: Removed incorrect information.... Other than that I saw rifi-fifi get some impressive benchmarks using 675MX in M15x.
  4. Lucky you! I was tempted to get the Fallout New Vegas complete pack but that would be many hours of my life and not sure if those graphics will be up-to-date. May give sleeping dogs a look.
  5. Yeh I'm thinking of getting the Cooler Master Hyper Evo v2 for now then maybe upgrading to the 240 cooler master eisberg which you can add a vga block too Also starting to look at two HID HD 7950 IceQ Boost Clocks due to that only costing £450-500, cheaper than a GTX 780 and possibly more performance when updated CF drivers are released.
  6. Thanks Ninjahunter, perhaps indie games are where I should look next. I know what you mean about being dragged through games with a certain amount of tedium. Nothing like a bit of Zelda to mix things up I'll definitely have a look at the indie titles you suggested, some will hopefully be in steam sale.
  7. Yeh, I should have mentioned the obvious big games that I've played through. I loved the Mass Effect series but was one of the huge number that was a little bit disappointed by the endings. Only one made sense and they should have stuck with that. In hindsight I really liked the story of Mass Effect 2 with the Illusive Man, excellent stuff.
  8. Yeh I love Deus Ex: HR but I've played it through many times including the missing link DLC (which is very difficult if you try to do it without any abilities to get the achievement), but the graphics are looking very dated now. I do still need to get Fox and Pacifist achievements though.....
  9. Really struggling to find any new games that captivate my interested. I loved Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite but I'm struggling to love Far Cry 3, Crysis 3 and Metro Last Light and probably won't complete these titles. I think I value a really good story and would be willing to try older games, I just need something to play! I am aware of steam summer sale and am keeping a close eye on what is cheap but still haven't seen anything I want to play. I'd really appreciate some recommendations and why specifically you liked that game. Thanks!
  10. That is definitely a reaction I might have had but I also watched the ending then read some explanations and possible story extras to discover that all those little plot clues were so elegantly weaved into the story, my favourite being Elizabeth's finger, that I really felt the writers had taken the story to another level. No story like that in any game ever! I'd sort of already worked out that I was Comstock, no sure exactly what gave it away but for me it was more verification and then all that business with those twins that travel through time, dropping lots of hints really. I loved it personally.
  11. I was just trying to help a fellow M15x owner....I think they are going to join here anyway to get the vBIOS packs you made after donating.
  12. Will that work for 680m as well? Or do you have the inf file for that? Someone on NBR is looking for that. http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-m15x/725555-questions-680m-m15x.html
  13. Witcher 2 is an excellent game. Combat is very challenging but once you get the hang of it, combat on any other game seems dumb-witted. Also there is a new combat mechanics upgrade with the Redkit Mod that adds new animations and removes the need to roll around so much. I just purchased Knife of Dunwall for Dishonoured in Steam sale. Wasn't a huge fan of Dishonoured but I will give it another go trying to cause as little chaos as possible. First play through I killed everyone for maximum chaos. The whole place just ended up being infested with rats and zombies! New DLC on the way soon too!
  14. Think I'm going for Haswell i5 4670K now rather than old stuff. Probably won't build this till September but might wait till amd 9970 which is out in October.
  15. Yeh I saw the Bitfenix Prodigy M (mATX) case at Computex. I do like the design of the prodigy especially in black with a blue LED 200mm fan in the front.
  16. Thanks @mb001 but really any gtx 6XX or 7XX card doesn't offer the value of the 7950 which is a champion overclocker. Not going to be able to buy this PC now until probably September due to having just had a holiday and funds being low so maybe AMD will release new cards by that stage. Still not sure on the case, that fractal design mATX case I like because of how basic and simple it looks but its not the most practical or easy to work with and has basically no expansion space or additional airflow or radiator possibilities (except using the front 120mm intake). Really hoping the Fractal Design Arc Mini R2 isn't too expensive as that looks like a winner.
  17. Hmm is single 12v rail the best? Cosair CX Builder 600W PSU with single 12V rail is £55 (non-modular could be hard in the tiny case I've chosen) Be Quiet Pure Power 630W Modular PSU has 2 12v rails and is £70. Which would be better for K-series overclocking? I won't be buying this computer until September so I have to time to consider AMDs offerings. I can't believe the 7950 is still much better value than GTX 760 and possibly even GTX 770. Apparently the HIS HD 7950 can score 9291 graphics on 3dMark 11 with a stable overclock of 1100mhz on core, What a beast! I also read that you can overclock with a H87 by ratio overclocking http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/h87-express-overclocking-bug,news-44605.html . Save some pennies and get a H87 board?
  18. @svl7 did you find any specific way to reduce throttling with a DELL 7970m? If I push CPU overclock any higher the combined test will throttle heavily. Far Cry 3 also experiences heavy GPU throttling when CPU is overclocked. Pretty sure the undervolt on 7970m doesn't make much difference other than lower temperatures.
  19. Here is a benchmark running 27/26/24/20 @ 72/62 and 890/1420 @ 0.975v Good for an undervolted card?
  20. Yeh I would love to go down the haswell route but if I could save £50 on cpu and m/b that will free up funds for a better gfx card. Seriously considering if I can fit a gtx 780 into my budget. Any real difference between five phase stock PCB and 8 phase gigabyte PCB?
  21. Just a quick question. Could I expect Ivybridge cpus and motherboards to come down in price at all? Same goes for gtx 680. Is it normal for these to stay at the same price after new gen has been released?
