  1. Pay me and I will!Just kidding. In three weeks I will make it for you for free. I won't go higher than 1.15v If you want anything higher. Do it yourself. 1.15v isnt going to make much difference anyway. maybe 100mhz extra at most
  2. Yeah but those are probably second hand 2920XM's. If it retails around 1000$, it's pretty shady. Or they want to lose their stock which is also possible. I was wondering if we were able to disable spread spectrum somewhere. It could give us few extra points. It's useless anyway in non-office environments.
  3. Unless you want everthing to be fried. Overclocking a CPU in a laptop is and always has been a DONT. It's like recreating Chernobyl in a micro environment. Unless you have a Alienware laptop or something similar ofcourse. But I am not going to pay 1000$ for a 2920XM i am seeinghere. You can spend that extra money on a new laptop and upgrade more often. But that sure is a nice overclock. Khenglish
  4. Google is your friend. I googled remove whitelist yesterday and I found a tutorial on how to do it. It can take several days to figure out what to do to globally disable it. You can wait for svl7 to return and ask him. Send him a PM and wait for him. Honestly I think it's not worth it to remove the whitelist. Just buy a supported network card and you save yourself a whole lot of trouble down the road if a BIOS update arrives and so on. i have a unofficial without the FRU. If I could choose again, I wouldn't buy one again. It's hardly worth it, trust me. You better go with a external USB adapter with high range if range is a issue. The WiFi bandwidth of a 150Mb/s is high enough anyway for these days. I have never exceeded it, NEVER. And I encounter so many different Wifi's everyday. The fastest I encountered was a 12MB/s, and even then achieving that speed is rare with other users on the network. And even then achieving that speed is rare. If your network supports it, then achieving 12MB/s on a download is even rarer. The only thing that was able to reach 12MB/s was the German Steam server, while I live in Belgium. Go figure that But if u want the whitelist still, ask svl7. He's a pro. I just gave my opinion of my personal experience.
  5. One does not simply mix different GPU models in SLI BTW, has anyone heard anything of svl7? He has been away for a long time now. What is the max overclock you guys are getting without exceeding the AC adapter's power? I read someone had this aroung 1250mhz.. I cannot test this with my i5 setup.
  6. Download BSOD Viewer made by nirsoft. Tell me the BSOD code and explanation and driver that caused the crash I had BSODs as well before. But it was related to USB and AHCI I solved it by first removing intel rapid storage technology and then downloading latest Intel INF Update Utility on their webste I dont think my mod can cause it, but let me know what bsod code you get. I also found a way to increase the 3D clocks when on battery. But I am not going to touch that.
  7. If you hesitate go with svl7s work. Version 1 is based on his mod. ECO is all my work and the only difference is that you cannot overclock with this one I believe. And this is an attempt to restore kepler boost and overclock the vbios out of the box like it was meant to be in my opinion. 99% of all people may want svl7s mod or the 1.1v version i made. I did some benchmarks and it seems i7 users are scoring a lot more points in 3Dmark. While i am lagging behind with 300-500 points
  8. I think svl7s version works differently. It doesnt reduce voltage when not needed
  9. You flash the big file (around 4600KB) in DOS using fpt.exe and prr.exe as described. And the small file 88KB-152KB is flashed with nvflash in Windows. In a laptop the first GPU is always integrated in the BIOS. Because the ultrabay GPU is removeable it has a separate VBIOS from the BIOS, so that's why.
  10. Just rename the extension from bin to rom or from rom to bin if it refuses to flash. It doesn't matter By the way guys, is 3850 and 3920 a normal score for 3DMark 11 Demo at 1GHz and 2500mhz memory ? I got the i5 model so it's hard to say.
  11. The ECO version is locked yes. You can still overclock the memory though I think. My point is that if you want to do a massive overclock, you dont want the dynamic voltages if you go 1200mhz or higher. 1200MHz is a 53% overclock. Which is self-destructive anyway in my opinion. The ECO mod gives you a nice 25% boost on the core and on the memory and doesn't ruin the card by running 1.1v or 1.025v all the time. If you want massive overclocks go with the first versions I released. I use the ECO versions as a preference for myself.
  12. What is your problem now ? Don't try to flash files longer than 8 letters.Read the first post over and over again. You might have missed something.First you backup your BIOS. Which you only have to do once.and then I always run YBIOSFix first to patch the new BIOS with the serial of my machinethen I run prr.exe in DOS modethen I run:fpt.exe -f mybios.rom -biosThat's all you have to do
  13. Guys I have released the ECO series for the 650M. Which increase and decrease core clocks and voltages when needed. Use these if you do not want to overclock using software. These mods cannot be overclocked using software. These mods are not based on svl7's mods, they are based on stock vbios. This mod will feature a 1GHz core clock for the 650M and 2500MHz for the memory. The 750M may follow in three or or four weeks. I hope you understand I have exams which I have to succeed in university. Thank you schranzmaster for your help! Tell your friends, bring them to techinferno! Flashing instructions are found in svl7's pinned thread. I do not give support on flashing. Everything you need is there, read it thoroughly ! Don't forget to backup your original BIOS as it contains your Windows 8 serial key and Lenovo S/N eco_v202_650m_1000C_1250M.zip
  14. If you want to use the 5GHz band, it's sure a win. Aside from that, I don't see why you would buy it. There is only one place out of ten places where they have WiFi where you will benefit from the 150Mb/s vs 300Mb/s Maybe the extra range can improve your signal strength marginally. But this is minimal. The result I gave you was the best I was able to reach in the best possible situation.
  15. 21st of June - 1st of July I have university exams. I hope you understand, I will start modding again when they are done. Thanks to schranzmaster you can expect more.
  16. I noticed your PM, however you did not include a attachment. Can you resend your PM with the attachment? Really looking forward! Also I would be happy to know what you exactly did on the 660M. Maybe we can write it down in a tutorial as a reference for future modders.
  17. It is possible yes, but if you guys can convince svl7. My mods are based on svl7's work. Which means that he disabled GPU Boost so the voltage doesn't scale as well. 500-series of nvidia and those before that were ridiculously easy to modify. Kepler is a real pain. They use a nasty way to hide things. eg: when a limit is set in the vbios at 790mhz, you find it in the vbios as 790000000 or 790000. At least this is the case with 500 series and before that of nvidia. Now it's like they have a clocktable and 790mhz is at step 27 of the clock table, which translates into (1B)h in hexadecimal. And still when I modify all these things my stock overclocked VBIOS is still not working despite all my efforts. I know for sure svl7 has the solution for this. He knows what I have to do I think. I can try finding it, but it can take a while.
  18. Use unigine heaven or unigine valley benchmark to test with SLI. It's great to benchmark non-stop or stress test. Also, you might want to use the Crysis benchmark loop. Which is also great for stressing SLI
  19. My mod has the corrected clocks reported. svl7s mod has something with the core clock not being reported correctly in nvidia inspector of gpu-z. But it appears to be reported correctly by the sensors. I made sure it is reported correctly at all times. Then the question is do you really need to have it reported correctly? I say no. svl7's bios mod is completely fine. But if you like to have everything show up correctly mine might be better. I have sent svl7 a private message I think explaining what I did to correct the clocks. So if he has time he might integrate it in his mod as well. tehweelz: yes you should be able to go above 925mhz with svl7's mod or my mod. How would you guys want undervolted 650M to 0.9v, 0.95v, 1.0v and a overvolted 1.2v? Stock VBIOS has max load temps of 60C on my machine. With the 1.1v mod i get about 80C with the new max overclock. What I am saying is let's overclock further with the unlocked vbios, but let's play safer with a lower voltage. For the extreme people wanting to do extreme benchmarks the 1.2v should come in handy.
  20. Found something interesting with stock bios. It doesnt throttle randomy when both cpu and gpu are used. It simply decreases gpu core clock to maintain 30 fps in game. If i turn up the settings to ultra. It suddenly is at 790mhz. I really like that. My gpu temp doesnt go above 60c when gaming arma 3 or planetside 2
  21. What is that option again opticeps that throttles the cpu or gpu when under load. Was it pstate energy saving in the bios? You dont want to flash a bios with a faulti dimm Fisgruntl3D. Is it the SODIMM thats faulty or the slot itself? If its the sodimm you can better buy new sodimm faster its cheap and you wont have to rma
  22. Kepler is no Ivy Bridge. And it's not because Ivy can handle 130C that kepler can. There is a reason throttle temperature is 70C on kepler. Or it is some silly way to prevent overclocking. To have their 700 series sell. Have you tried booting in safe mode? And try going to device manager. Try the same thing in normal mode. See if the GPU is still there. If it is it could also be that a circuit is burnt because of the cpu running too hot. I think the images have to pass through the iGPU from Intel if that is the case. It could be simply bad luck. All laptops i had overheated and throttled like hell. I would even compile Android on them for hours on 100C and play games at the same time. Voltage doesn't kill necesarily. By the way lenovo has a diagnostic utility on their website. It might verify what component is causing the problem. It says its for thinkpads only but it works on ideapads as well
  23. The bios contains the vbios of your builtin gt650m the sli ultrabay has a separate vbios. Read the pinned thread by svl7. Redlion i wouldnt turn off the throttling. Someone's gpu already died of running too hot too often overclocked together with throttlestop forcing turbo boost. I am going to make a undervolt bios that is still able to overclock to the official limit. Watch out with your oc speed
  24. I think your gpu died. Go to the bios and disable switchable graphics. Its probably because you forced the turbo boost and were always close to 90-100C. Flash stock bios and vbios and call lenovo. Tell them you play planetside 2 and your temps were very high all the time and your cpu was 100C a lot. Kepler should be treated like a woman with care i guess i am not goig to overclock anymore now reading this. Opticeps if you need advice mail me. Worst case is that lenovo will notice and u need new motherboard. I think your cpu is fine. But the gpu is burnt.
  25. The only difference between the ones with memtag and the ones without is that they have their memory always overclocked or nor. Both can overclock equally.
