  1. Upgraded to the Intel 7260 AC wireless card. This is gonna be a no go atm. I tried 3 different cards and they all have the same symptoms. They lose 5ghz band after a couple of hours. Card has to be reset or system rebooted in order to get 5ghz back. I tested this on "a" and "ac" routers. Intel was no help. If someone has upgraded to the 7260(AC version) let me know if you're having the same problem. Thanks.
  2. Just upgraded to 32GB on the RAM. So I can confirm it's supported. 2 sets of CORSAIR Vengeance Model CMSX16GX3M2A1600C10 Laptop Memory - Newegg.com
  3. The limit isnt 16gb. I have 24gb of ram in mine (2x8gb & 2x4gb), I bet 32gb will work also. The other upgrades I have are the bluray drive and the intel 6235 wifi/bt card.
  4. Do a factory reset then enter some bogus config data and save that (it's what I do when I sell them). That should be enough. If you're still worried, dont bother selling it. Your piece of mind is probably worth more than the cash you'll get for a used router.
  5. Over the years i've owned 4 m1730s (2 of which I bought broken and repaired myself). Stay clear of it now. Their days have long been over even with the top gpus available. Right now I have an MSI GE70-0ND and a G75. I'd recommend either of these but the MSI sports the HD 4000 along side the 660m to save power when not gaming (or lite gaming). Perfect for computing on the run. Excellent battery life for such a powerful laptop. It's also much lighter than the G75. U should be able to find either of them now for around 700-800 (paid 700 for my G75 last month).
