HP 8770W/ Quadro K4000M Overclock

Recommended Posts

Would really like some help with this.

I Have a HP 8770W Elitebook Workstation.

its powered by an Intel Core i7-3630QM, 32GB RAM and an Nvidia Quadro K4000M.

the Quadro's stock clock is 600 MHz- Core/ 700 MHz- Memory.

its currently overclocked 736 MHz (+135 MHz)- Core/ 1050 MHz (+750 MHz)/ 1100 MHz (+800 MHz)- Memory.

The GPU temps stay fairly decent in summer ( between 70-75 Degrees Celsius) while loaded and CPU around 5 degrees higher. In winter the drop to the mid/high 60's so i believe there is still some space there to push it a bit harder.

The problem is nor Nvidia Inspector nor MSI Afterburner  allow me to overclock the core over 135 MHz, the memory i know is maxed out because anything over just bugs out.

Is there anything i can do that would allow me to go over that threshold of 135 MHz.

@yussuaif Can't PM you,and maybe you won't see this message, however were you able to solve this? The specs of your card/and machine/ are 1:1 with mine.

Does anyone have original ROM for K4000M?

Much appreciated :)

Hi!

Original stock vbios from HP:   https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/206681/206681

Original stock vbios from Dell:  https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/145048/145048

Version string of "from Dell" matches one that is reported on my side... Which makes me wonder how it ended up being flashed in HP card.

I will continue investigation and update original topic. Thank you.

Even with a modded VBIOS I was unable to overclock over the 135Mhz threshold, things would get weird (artefacts, shaky screen, even bluescreens), with that setup best way to do it for me was finding the best way to cool the computer and fine-tuning the memory overclock to its max if you can find a VBIOS that allows you to mess with the power profiles you might just be able to push over the 135Mhz because that's the limit I was constantly hitting. I found the best way was to change to another MXM module with a faster and less workstation oriented tuning. I went with a GTX 970M, it has a lower TDP and overclocks better than the Quadro. You can even find GTX 980M but I feared the single fan solution would have gotten a bit overwhelmed with all the heat that would make, and I wasn't able to get a GTX 1060.

Hello everyone, it is 2020 and i've been looking literally EVERYWHERE for a modded vBios for an Asus G751jy (980m 4gb) to unlock voltage control above 25mV, can someone help me?
I've seen people have been linking the mod so here's mine, latest 213

      Hello guys,
I have a GT72VR 6RE with G-sync MSI Laptop. Sadly the GPU is partially dead (artefacts all over the screen, crashes, windows detecting a damaged hardware etc...).

So I bought an other GTX1070 MXM on ebay, which was used in a Vortex G65 6RE before.
Sadly, when I plug the new GPU in the laptop, the laptop screen stays completly off, but i can use the HDMI port. So i though that I would just have to flash the vbios to the one I was using on the GPU that died, but I couldn't because of a mismatch betwen the PCI Device ID.
      The new GPU ID is : 10DE 1BA1 - 1462 11AF and the previous GPU ID was :10DE 1BE1 - 1462 11AF
Pretty close right? but the A1 and E1 variation are fcking everything up. I've read that 1BA1 is for non G-sync and 1BE1 is for G-sync. I've also read that the G-sync variation is not part of the card but is an external part no on the GPU board.

So now I'm wondering what can I do : is there a way to force the vbios flash or to change the PCI ID ? I really need some help here. I'm no expert and I've try as much as I could. Maybe I need to do some vbios editing but I don't really know how to do it and what to do exactly to make this work.

Thank you very much for your help guys

      Hi guys,

Hope someone is able to help me. I bought a Dell Quadro K3100m card (the only mxm card I could find in my area). The card itself works (I was able to bypass post lockup by bridging the bios pins on the card) but the vrom on the card is not compatible with the card itself. I tried using other bios versions but they don't seem compatible. Does anyone have a stock rom for vbios version 80.04.FE.00.09? (Apologies if I posted in the wrong place - new to the forums).

Your help would be greatly appreciated!!
