[Q] Windows on legacy without formatting?

Hey all! So excited to be here (long time android user, first time laptop user).

My question is, is there a way to "switch" the built-in windows OS to boot via legacy instead of UEFI/EFI?

It makes it way easier for me to dual/multi boot instead of installing ubuntu, then use boot-repair (and about 3 hours of work) to make ubuntu switch to EFI.

Thanks!

PS: there might be some info online, but i might be "that blind guy that couldn't find it"

so:

- i have a y510p

- I'm on "stock" windows 8 booting via EFI currently

- i have ubuntu installed as a second OS

- if UEFI is disabled, i can't even get to grub to choose an OS

- i want to switch everything to legacy mode without formatting (I'd lose windows... don't want that)
