svl7
Get the latest drivers and maybe reinstall 3dMark11, I had some issues with it a while ago... lagging for no reason in the first test which caused my score to be several hundred points lower than it should've been. sate123
I can only update drivers from the dell website right?
svl7
No, for the best performance get the latest driver directly from your GPU manufacturer, the Dell drivers are always a bit outdated.
sate123
every time i try to get the drivers from the manufacture it says my hardware is incompatibleand that i can only download the drivers from dell....
svl7
Edit: Sorry, you have Nvidia cards... these are AMD drives, I fail________________Try the modded ones, they should work. Founder StamatisX Posted July 14, 2011 Founder Share Posted July 14, 2011 @svl7 I believe sate123 has an Nvidia GPU so the warning message he will receive cannot be ignored
svl7
@svl7 I believe sate123 has an Nvidia GPU so the warning message he will receive cannot be ignored totAhhhh, I fail, totally overseen the 460m in the specs... I automatically think about the 6970m when I read M18x. Thanks for letting me know. @sate123 : Sorry, I have't seen that you're using the 460m. In this case the subsys ID aren't yet implemented in the official Nvidia drivers. You can get a modded .inf file from laptopvideo2go, which should allow you to install the drivers. You simply need to copy and replace the modded .inf file with the original one, directly in the folder where you unpacked the Nvidia driver. Founder StamatisX Posted July 14, 2011 Founder Share Posted July 14, 2011 @svl7 I almost did the exact same mistake that's why I noticed therefore @sate123 try the modded inf from laptopvideo2go and let us know
sate123
oh ok thanks, does anyone know why they do that for nvidia GPUs?
svl7
It seems that Dell is simply slow with passing the Subsys ID and subvendor information to Nvidia...
sate123
do i have to do that every time i update my drivers? Thanks for the help guys

daveh98
I could be wrong but isn't that a normal score for 460 SLI? Make sure though that you untick anything "quality related" in your driver suite. I know for AMD when I unticked "surface optimization" I went from 4900 to 6800. That is a HUGE increase. But 4000 seems about right as I think that is what stock 5870CF get if I am not mistaken? 460SLI is a tad slower than 5870CF I think as well? I may be missing something but that seems like the obvious culprit?

Haven't seen a lot of 460m SLI benches though.
skerds
I think downloading driver is better nvidia site not dell. 4000 score is low but I don't know exact answer.
One23Forty
The scores notebookcheck shows aren't too different. I use their list of benchmarks as a quick reference - the cards I've been able to test are pretty close.Mobile Graphics Cards - Benchmark List - Notebookcheck.net Tech
