I' PE4H-2.4+mpcie PM3N owner and my laptop is a Lenovo X220T

I5 2520+2X8Go DDR3,SSD Samsung Dalle IPS+ external screen.

I have contacted Nando in order to get the most adapted setup to my hardware. Despite the right setup, i'm unable to get PCI-E to GEN2 mode.

On PCI-E adapter, there's a swith but i have no idea how to use it. Do i have to try different setup ?

And what about PE4H switch ? could you tell me how to setup this one?

my X220T bios is 1.39 version.

The PE4H 2.4 with the PM3N cannot do GEN2. GEN2 requires soldered connections without removable cables. You will need to use the PE4L 2.1b, PE4H 3.0, GDC v6, or PE4C with the mPCI-E attachment for GEN2.

i tried position 2 and position 3 on the delay switch , i don't know where is the good position for this switch.

This is the same for the second one... What is the correct position ?

Sometime , i have a message at the beginning of the setup of nando that tell me that there is no EGPU , i don't know why.

Will i have to plug the PE4h after the bios ? or can i plug it before ?

I'm not sure , but , is it possible to plug 2 hdmi cable to the X220 ? One on express card , and the other on the mpcie port next to the ssd ? Or will i have to only plug the express card ?

Someone tell me that the mpcie port have not the pcie connexion but only the usb host , is it true for the X220 ?

In the setup of Nando ( vers 1.30) , i try to put the pcie port into gen 2 ... Now there is one green and one orange led on the little card which is plugged to the mpcie port , is it normal ?

In fact , do you have a complete sheme to proced with the X220 and a PE4H to have the best performance possible.

You do not have a port layout to do a x2 configuration combining EC+mPCIe or mPCIe+mPCIe. Besides, Intel has locked that facility as of the Series-6 chipset such that a complicated ME firmware dump, modification and reflash is needed to unlock it. In short, forget about doing a x2 link on your X220.

What you can aim for is a Gen2 link using mPCIe or expresscard. Use the PCIe Ports->Link width.Gen2 option in Setup 1.30 to switch your port from Gen1 to Gen2.

Then to confirm that Gen2 is running, run GPU-Z and put the GPU under load. Easiest way to do that is using the NVidia control pane-> Adjust image:

As mentioned by Khenglish, the PE4H 2.4 + PCIEMM060B cable configuration is not fully Gen2 compliant. This was based on my own testing finding it would see the NVidia driver often "driver has stopped" errors then reinitialize. A AMD HD7970 on the other hand did run a Gen2 link OK. That was using a HP 2570P. Though your mileage may vary.

PE4C V2.x, EXP GDC V6 and PE4L 2.1b on the otherhand are Gen2 compliant with either a NVidia or AMD card.

See PE4H 2.4a + EC2C/PM3N + PCIEMM-060B are not Gen2 compatible testing results. If you purchased this gear expecting Gen2 link performance then you may wish to request a PE4L 2.1b or PE4C 2.x from BPlus instead based on misadvertising.

I can understand this may happen. The BPlustech PE4H 2.4 page information that says Gen2 support. The newer BPlus.com.tw PE4H 2.4 page correctly states Gen1 compatible only.

Force the Port hosting eGPU to be Gen1 using Setup 1.30. If that port is currently set to Gen2 but using Gen1-only hardware (PE4H 2.4) then it will result in NVidia driver instability including BSODs.

Other reason this could be happening is because of insufficient power to drive the GTX780Ti. Check your PSU keeping in mind that the PE4H 2.4 only uses a single rail of a multi-rail PSU. GTX780Ti is a 250W TDP product, therefore your PSU needs at least a 12V/22A (264W) rail.
