So upon closer inspection it appears that whatever little Chinese lady standing at the conveyer belt with my machine on it, never actually snapped the plastic pieces together. I noticed the pieces notch into each other, so I pressed firmly on the lower half, and after a solid "click" sound both pieces are seamlessly into place. This is good. Stevenxowens792
This is why it pays to download the manuals and completely break down your notebook and put it back together with precision and patience. Not that others folks lack quality but it allows you to check each cable connection, each screw, each component. Glad that it's not really a cracked hinge. I know mine seem ok but I can't speak for others. I am still confused as to how the hinges didn't snap together. When you connect the actual chassis of the notebook to the screen the hinges have to line up correctly to be able to screw in the 4 anchor screws (2 each side) that connect screen to chassis. Thanks for the post. Best Wishes,StevenX
coolguystan
I agree. There is now nothing stopping me from getting the m14x. I will probably order it next week when the paypal check comes in.
