Y510p Reconfig Novo Button

Hi all

Got a new y510p and just wondering is it possible to reconfigure the novo button at all for one key recovery?

I have an issue with hidden recovery partitions tbh - as I dont like the bloatware that comes preinstalled so would rather wipe all partitions and start again

or will the one key recovery still work if I set my own recovery partitions up???? It all a bit new

Depending on how big your HDD is, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to just format the primary partition, and install your own OS of choice. Keep the recovery partition where it is and give up the extra few gigs it takes up. That way you have your clean os install, but have the hidden partition as a backup. It can serve as your oh-shit backup solution, or if you need to ever send it back in to Lenovo and don't want them rejecting it for whatever reason.

If you simply resize partition, which contain win8, you can't restore os from recovery partition. When you press Novo Button - laptop trying to boot using OneKey Recovery loader on first hidden partition. Last hidden partition on hdd contain factory image of you system. In the beginning of full recovery process, OneKey Recovery checking size of primary partition. If it not concide the factory value - recovery break.

Yeh - I agree - will leave the partitions well alone as you never know - will be doing my own Acronis backups on the main ssd anyway
