EMC
Hi,I have a clevo P150hm with a 680M GTX and a i7 2920xm ES (4GHZ) but I´m not happy withthe all plastic build quality and with some stability issues.I´m from Brazil and powerfull sistems cost a lot(For example a P370 with 2x7970m costs about $3500).I found a M17x R2 from a very careful owner with a RGB 1200p screen, i7 820qm and a single 4870m.If I sell my clevo and buy this AW, a i7 920xm and a couple of 7970m(maybe a single 780m gtx). It´ll be a good exchange? For those who have R2´s with crossfire 7970m, How is the gamming experience? The sistem is rock stable? cpu throttling?Thank you for all! Founder StamatisX Posted August 12, 2013 Founder Share Posted August 12, 2013 CPU wise it is a downgrade, otherwise it's an upgrade, especially in build quality and screen, so if you don't mind lower CPU performance then go for it
EMC
In the gaming world, do you see that much cpu bottleneck in your sistem (ignoring benchmark scores). The performance is constant(without fps drops)?
Founder StamatisX Posted August 12, 2013 Founder Share Posted August 12, 2013 No it's not that of a bottleneck, but FPS drops and in game performance are not solely depended on CPU, GPU drivers are more important in that matter.
EMC
Modern games like crysis 3 are very cpu demanding(scenes full of grass and explosions)...did you tested it?How many fps did you achieve?

TheCodeBreaker
I say go for the m17x r2 if your willing to upgrade to Crossfire 7970M (8970M?) and the i7 920XM. the i7 920XM isnt that bad, its a step down from what you have, its 1 i7 generation apart. you can compare benchmarks of the 2 on hwbot.org if you want. roughavoc
Games such as Crysis 3, Bioshock and GRID for example, the downgrade in CPU will not be anywhere near as noticable as say if you were to play MMO's or RTS's. Based on what type of games you play, I would decide then
