2920XM Overclocking issue with OC apps

Recommended Posts

I own an msi gt60 and recently bought an I7 2920xm (Q1CE) to replace my i73610 proc for ocing purposes.. I have an unlock bios which i

can fiddle the frequency of the processor (Core Ratio limit 1-4) in the bios settings. One problem with my tweak is that when i stress

test my nb, the Oc'ed speed decreases to 3.2-2.7 for quad core setup. What I really want is to stress test my nb with the desired speed

that i wanted to see if its stable or not ......

Now I want to test its unlock multipliers thru apps like XTU or Throttlestop. I manage to successfully installed and run the XTU. THe

problem is, is that the manual settings is greyed out except for reference clock... Same goes with throttlestop. Under Power Limits, i

cant adjust the tdp.... Here are the images of my bios and xtu...

Hi,

In your BIOS Advanced CPU PPM Configuration switch Config TDP Lock to DISABLED

and try to set Long & Short Duration power limit to its max value, save & exit BIOS settings and try again in Intel XTU if your changes are "visible" .-)
