astrolopiteco Posted August 9, 2023 Share Posted August 9, 2023 Hi everyone. I desperately need help with an M17x r4!! I can no longer use the 3D 120Hz display!! The display worked perfectly with gtx 680m 2gb gpu, without any modified drivers. Since I tried to install another gpu the black screen display, I can't even view the bios. I have no error beeps, the machine starts up to load the operating system, always with a black screen. When I put the 680m gpu with the drivers installed, I only see if I connect an external monitor!!! I've made countless attempts for 3 days, nothing to do!! If I put the 60hz panel back on after resetting the bios by removing the buffer battery, I have the image on the panel again. Even if I peg it doesn't solve, I'm going crazy!!! One last thing if I remove the gpu with the 130hz panel I have lighting for a moment, but then 8 beeps, because the gpu is not present. Please help me restore this machine, I'm sure the panel works. I tried with 3 gpu always the same black screen but loads without any error beeps!! Guys I don't want to have a 60hz display without even a gpu. I have a nivdia quadro p4000m 8gb and i can't use it!! Founder Brian Posted August 31, 2023 Founder Share Posted August 31, 2023 There might be a function command (eg fn+f6) that switches the display to 120 hz. If not, then maybe the bios needs to be updated to use the newer gpu. The existing one might need dells own driver to initialize the display.
