G703VI unlock NVME

Hi to everyone new member here.

I need to reinstall fully my notebook and the only setting for the SATA configuration is "Intel RST Premium".

The notebook is sold with RAID0 config but even with one SSD, I can not select AHCI. I bought 2 retail Samsung SSD to be able to use Samsung software.

I can boot, format and install windows 10 with a single SSD but impossible to install Samsung Drivers or update firmware with Samsung Magician.

If someone can help will be great. I know already how to flash with FPTW.

Backup done with FPTW for ME 11.

Thanx in advance. Greetings.

Bios backup with FPTW from Windows 10 Update Version 317 : G703VI-317.rar

PS : Sorry my mistake this post can be moved to Asus Gaming Notebook forum

Hi!

Have you tried changing some setting in BIOS (using AMIBCP), and then flashing the already changed BIOS?

Hi Klem :)

Yes I tried to set User on all tree but the menu option choice AHCI is missing as you can see with the Setup extraction.

Need someone who can add the code they used in the G703GX and it should work.

Modify the line (0x49AF1) from RAID to AHCI will be fine for me. I don't plan to use Raid 0 anymore.

There is a second "SATA Configuration" in the extracted Setup at the address : 0x49866

Cheers.

Thanx Klem exactly the 2 entries who need to be modified in Setup : "SATA Mode Selection" (I updated bios dump version in main post)

Look those pictures I think is where the main matter is. In G703GX bios Setup you can select RAID or AHCI there, but not in G703VI Setup :

The first SATA Mode Selection entry :

374DF  : One Of Option: AHCI, Value (8 bit): 0x0 (default) {09 07 57 0C 30 00 00}

The second SATA Mode Selection entry :

0x49ABA : One Of Option: RAID, Value (8 bit): 0x1 (default) {09 07 58 0C 30 00 01}

I will edit the PE32 image in HEX and change 58 to 57. Will see if it work. Should force AHCI only.

Everything ok. I had to edit bios and disable SATA. Then I got only one port who was in NVME mode. Flashed SSD firmware and reflashed original bios.

Will never buy Samsung or Asus products again. They are joking to the face of customers.

Thanx for help again.
