Manuel Gardina Posted March 14, 2012 Share Posted March 14, 2012 Hi guys, the mem usage of my cards in SLI hit the 60% max each card. Sometimes even 55%. In heaven bench both cards are at 55%, in single the same, 55%. Same for games (skyrim bf3), i've never seen the 80 or 100% of Vram usage. (this means 1120 Vram or something like that)My question is, i have 4G of Vram, why my cards are using only 55% of their potential? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

You'd need far better textures or a way higher resolution than 1080p to completely use 4GB of VRAM. The cards simply use what they need. For most applications 1GB per card would probably be more than enough, especially for a resolution of only 1080p. GPU manufacturers recently just tend to put more VRAM on mobile graphics solutions since a most people believe that this is the most important thing when it comes to video cards, which is not true. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

That annoys me so much! One of my lecturers at uni keeps asking everyone "How many gigs their GPU has" and seems to rate them on that. He really should know better!
