GT60 0NC Ram Slots underneath Keyboard won´t work, any suggestions?

Hi everyone,

I recently got a GT60 0NC (MS-16F3) Laptop quite cheap and want to upgrade it a little bit (read already a lot in here and I guess I´m good to go).

Soo the first thing i wanted to do was upgrade the 8GB Ram (2x 4GB located in the slots under the maintenance flap) with two more sticks - but it seems like the two slots located under the Keyboard doens´t work properly.

I tested every possible config. - but when a Stick is installed in one of the keyboard slots, even one of the originally installed sticks, the laptop just won´t boot (display is off/black, no hdd activity and no error beeps).

Does anyone experienced something similar and knows what to do? I got a 51x bios file already (intended to flash for the new gpu i was gonna buy, probably a GTX 780m or 870m) - do you think it would help?

I wrote a mail to the MSI support and will update this post with the answer when they finally reply.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Hi!

In your laptop CPU i5 or i7?

If i5, then in your case all ok, i5 can't work with two slots located under the Keyboard.
