  1. Hi, I modded the bios on my clevo P651SG, however it says that if the Intel ME software is higher than 9.0 on the Haswell (4th gen intel cpu) models then you cannot overclock the BLCK. I have this model and my intel ME firmware is 9.1, is there any possible way to downgrade it to gain the overclocking potential? Thanks in advance, Zeeshan
  2. Hello! I have a Lenovo Y50 with a shitty Wifi-Card and i wanted to unlock the BIOS, so i can replace it with a better one! Now I saw there are Instructions for the Y500 but none for the Y50! Is there a possibility for me to unlock it on my own, or do I have to rely on other Users on this Forum, who know how to do it? Greatly appriciate any help regarding that matter :/. My BIOS is on V1.13 by the way.
  3. Hi everyone, Because my gtx 670m gpu died i had to search for a new one to replace it. Luckyly a friend of mine could give me one funcional from another medion erazer, a gtx 560M. I instaled it and it have been automatically recognizes by windows 7 and i could instal the drivers without any issue. My problem is that one : The system is unable to activate the gpu, and even by modifiying the nvidia optimus globals or by program options... I saw that someone already had this problem by downgrading his gpu at this thread : https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=253417.0 But he could manage to resolve his problem because they are nearly the same gpus : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670M | techPowerUp GPU Database ; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570M | techPowerUp GPU Database. In another hand, mine is a different one : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M | techPowerUp GPU Database I also read in that thread that for upgrading a graphic card, the most important part is the power output, wich is the same for the 560m and the 670m : http://forum.techinferno.com/general-notebook-discussions/8192-%5Bguide%5D-how-upgrade-medion-erazer-gpu.html So i dont know right now if i should modify my bios, my vbios, only reinstall windows... and how, because i didnt see any thread about DOWNgrading issues.. Thank you for your help ! My specs : OS : windows 7 6.1.7601 SP1 build 7601 Bios : E1762IM7.105 Motherboard : MS-1762 barbone PS : Sorry for any language errors, english isn't my native language.
  4. Hi all. I'm considering downgrading (blind-flash method, verified it works on this system before) my M17x R4's system BIOS from A10 Unlocked to A05 Unlocked. Reason being the idle clock for the Intel iGPU - I liked the behavior much better in A05 and earlier. I was able to idle at 350MHz(qm chip)/400MHz(xm chip) instead of the advertied 650MHz, which results in significant idle power savings. The new BIOS does still allow for this, but only if the system is exposed to AC power (yes, adapter is original.) The problem is if I have to restart my system for any reason while on battery power, I get stuck with 650MHz iGPU clock and a 25% greater overall idle power draw until I can plug in. I've documented this behavior further in a previous post, but for this question let's not focus on the reason I want to downgrade - unless you know another way I can force the behavior I want. What I want to ask is this: Other than the CPU microcode update which does not apply to my current ES CPU, the new Windows 8-related features, and the slightly faster POST, are we aware of any other meaningful differences between the two BIOSes? Differences in system performance? I did notice a slight improvement with A10 over A05 on my previous CPU but I attributed that to the microcode update, which no longer applies to my current CPU. I've yet to run A05 on my current ES CPU.
