  1. Hi people 1. Does anyone knows if the NGFF version offers higher performance or is it just a different connector. 2. I saw there is a v8 version of the EXP GDC - anyone knows what's the differences? 3. If I have the v7 with mSata connector, can I replace it with an M.2 connector? Thanks
  2. Hi, The new VN7-591G is an interesting gaming laptop, but with the I7 CPU (there's also an I5 version), the CPU can get really hot and throttle. However, the fans are spinning slowly and quietly (vn7-591G review temps) Anynow knows what can be done?
  3. Cheap for Manufacturers maybe, but if the difference between 860M performance level and 70% faster 970M level will be only around $300-$400 (~$1000 to ~$13-1400), throw in the IPS display, M.2 ports, the 860M is a hard buy, and that's for $1000 laptops
  4. Maybe in the begging of the next year This leaves a serious gap between the 860M and 970M laptops and it makes me wonder why manufacturers keep making new models with 860M for $1000-$1100 and even without IPS display.. The VN7-591G is the most interesting currently
  5. no replacement for the 860M, ha?
  6. So the W230ST modded bios is not out yet?
  7. Does the W230ST has a new bios from Clevo? can't find it!
  8. in the worst case you can simply run Windows on safe mode and disable the XTU
  9. @lonesyndal EDIT: my mistake. Ofcourse I have these settings, but it doesn't change anything. How do you check things if every software (GPU-Z, HWInfo, MSI Afterburner) changes the clocks?
  10. I installed the 326.19 and I don't have these performance options in the nvidia control center. I don't remember how it was with the 311.51 drivers. What drivers are you using?
  11. I used this one: Zippyshare.com - nvcvn.inf By the way, someone said a new Clevo bios is out - do you know anything about it? And why my posts are moderated ?
  12. I'd very like to know what you did to make it happen - OS, drivers, anything I get 3-3.5 hours TOPS with everything turned off and the GTX 765M is almost always on 800MHZ. When I turn on the nvidia inspector, it sometimes downclock, but that's all I know more people have the same problem I'm using Windows 7, maybe that's the problem?
  13. Wait wait - 0MHZ for GPU? What about the GTX 765M? How much battery do you get with it?
  14. what software did you use? How did you undervolted the CPU? I had no problem undervolting 120mV down, though CPUs are not equal, as you mentioned
  15. Hi, yes. Did it with 120mV and got big differences in temperatures - CPU was around 8-10C cooler, even closer to 10C. That includes both CPU only tests (wPrime 1024MB) and CPU + GPU (wPrime + Kombustor) and also in games. I didn't record any significant performance hit and since the high temps of the CPU make it throttle a bit (and in rare cases throttle considerably, but it's quite hot here currently), I think the undervolting will benefit you in some cases. You can see the results in my W230ST review I didn't change the multiplier. Windows 7 Ultimate, 326.19 beta drivers and 311.51 WHQL drivers tested. I'm also really waiting for a new bios or something. The battery performance is obviously far from being optimal at around 3-3.5 hours. I also didn't see significant difference between lower screen brightness and 40%, indicating that some other major factor is taking place here
