Y500 has LVDS not eDP, so no
-
So I'm on 2.4 now, can I just flash the BIOS or do I have to downgrade the BIOS or sth?
You can apply the mod to 2.04 just fine
-
Hi guys, Instructions for flashing a modified version can work on a Lenovo G500 too ?
This mod is for Y500/Y400 only
-
Ofc, as long as it's big enough to hold both
-
I don't know what machine you have but on mine I'd love to have intel graphics enabled. I have a Lenovo y500 and imo the battery life sucks... I'm in the process of flashing a modded BIOS just so I can see if this is possible (as well as replace my shit wireless card..). You're not wrong though, OEMs do tend to lie about their products just to make more money, but in fairness if you were in their position wouldn't you do the same?
Lenovo Y500 owner here. You won't be able to access the iGPU, modded BIOS or otherwise, because of physical limitation. The display outputs are hooked up to the dGPU and there is no mux.
-
Thanks! Do you also know if there is a way to get miracast working with this laptop because I heard that to use the intel wireless display feature we need to have intel hd 4000 graphics card (which this model does but doesn't recognize it)?
Sorry I don't know anything about Miracast. All I know is that the iGPU is unusable in this laptop.

tag me later please.
You're it

There really isn't enough room for SLI in a 15".
My Lenovo Y500 disagrees . And it's no throttle machine like an Aorus either.

Has anyone tried to do this process after upgrading to OEM bios v2.04?
Do you think there will be a problem?
Nope, been running modded 2.04 for well over a year now. I flashed stock 2.04 package (BIOS & EC) before it became publicly available on Lenovo's site and then unlocked it with svl7's mod.
BTW hope you're doing well @svl7. Haven't seen you around in forever.

What is your power draw at the wall?
If I recall, GT70 ships with an inadequate 180W PSU. You may be running out of juice.

Hello im new here,
I currently own a Medion X7821 with 2gig 680m graphics card, i dont know much about hardware overclocking but ive seen there is a 4gig verison of the card, so im curious is there anyway of pushing my 2gig ram physically higher?
No
-
what is it, then?
A proprietary PCIe x8 slot. mPCIe is limited to 1 lane.

OMG watching Kyle made me cringe so hard, I think I died a little inside. XD
-
Wow you really need to get a better CPU dude. That 1.6 GHz i7-720QM is bottlenecking 970M badly. Your 970M exceeds the recommended GPU but CPU is 1 GHz below the minimum.

Where is this driver?
Here: Drivers | GeForce
-
Driver 352.84 is MS352_08-29, DriverVer = 05/10/2015, 9.18.13.5284
Sorry missed it. It's in a different scheme than what I'm used to (rXXX). Hopefully the W10 TP driver branch is still behind r346 in terms of that clockblock stuff otherwise we are in a world of pain.

No branch info...

Must be something else then. If you were clockblocked, you wouldn't even be able to set the clock. The core slider would be completely grayed out.
-
I just did that. Completely wiped with DDU, re-installed drivers 350.12, core clock selection still doesn't have an effect. Tried both with MSI Afterburner and Nvidia Inspector. I.e. I can set the clock, but when checking the actual clocks in Nvidia control panel "system information", the GPU clock is at 625. The memory clock overclocks fine and is reported as such.
I initially realized there's a problem when I noticed 3DMark11 was reporting my GPU core clock as stock, and the memory clock as overclocked.
What is your actual core clock under load via sensor reading?

This: Nvidia clockblock: vBIOS (unblocked in 347.88, reblocked in 350.12) | NotebookReview
And it seems to be true, core clock changes don't take effect.
I was the one who made that thread. There is no clockblock on 600M cards. On 350.12 my 650M SLI overclocks same as it ever has. Maybe you should DDU and reinstall driver.
-
I've searched and searched but can't find an unlocked vBios for the NVIDIA 620m, which came in my Asus UX32VD. Is anyone willing to unlock this for me? I can post the original vbios if needed. I mostly need this because on the latest drivers, 350.12, the core clock overclocking has been blocked (again). Thanks!
What are you talking about? Overclocking has never been blocked on 600M, only on some 800M and 900M.

anybody know if we can force the hd4000 intel igp and enable the hackintosh installation
This has been asked a million times already. iGPU is impossible to access.
No no idea about Hackintosh.
-
You'll be fine, plus you can OC by +400 MHz to 3.9 GHz

For dust removal why you guys don't use the function in the "Energy Management" tool? too simple or you don't have it?

IdeaFan is a script which runs Dust Removal nonstop, so they're basically the same thing
G-sync for 980M?

Damn you, Nvidia.
