ok so called again and they said order recieved on the 5th, shipped on the 26th and will be show on the 1st. wait it is shipped from the future?

hmm ill do that tomarrow. although the edd still said it was on the first. so maybe they were just super slammed two days after release.

I just called the number and my order said in processing.... what the heck! Does that mean its not being built yet?

as i understand it fedex doesn't ship on mondays, so you will get it tomorrow brian.

I just wish they would let people receive there machines they ordered on launch day before announcing something better. if you order the best at least hold the best before its obsolete lol come on at least give me a day. lol

can we get significantly better overclocks with something like this i have no experiance overclocking laptops, but it looks promising.

Ya that is pretty awesome im looking at 300 for 128gb what is the max sata3 speeds you can get out of an ssd and does it scale uniformly? if a vetrex 3 gets 550mbs, does our laptops get 75 percent of that or does it scale different, and each drive performs different percentage wise?

Hmm this may be a joint 18x/17xr3 operation. too bad i didnt toss the ssd in the r3 and run some tests before i sent it back. would be nice too see if there were any differences with the same drive.

So with twice the memory bandwidth... wait a min... so the second card exports too the first cards memory buffer than out to the display or is the information sent to the first cards memory buffer than parsed to the second card to do work and both send back to the display separately? wow and here i thought i knew how this worked. up until 5 mins ago i thought -Information is sent too both cards -Cards render frames sequentially -frames are displayed in order rendered that doesn't appear to be the case if only one cards vram is used, and so if the other cards vram isnt used than it may have twice the memory bandwidth in theory it just only uses one leg of it?

Hmm well I had the standard 1080p I don't think I did the 120hz screen. If the screen blows it will be a letdown. What's the point of having badass media/gaming framerates if it still looks like shit? Evenmore, what's the point of a laptop that you still use an external monitor on?

Can't wait to see pics man I'm dieing too see what it looks like. I hope the screen is as good as the17x. I wasn't disappointed with that one so here is to hoping.

hmm interesting. the OCZ's have a 3 year warranty and the nand is made at the joint intel/micron facility. barring any binning discrepencys they should have the same reliability and the only difference is intel vs sandforce controllers.... right? so we cant take full advantage of ssds with these machines? maybe we should start a new thread and when my vertex 3 comes in we can do our own testing and try to get to the bottom of this.

Ok just read up on the new design. Good job intel. Skynet can now play cryses. I think amd will be outmatched, and give up on x86 and intel will be overjoyed at there monopoly, and raise there prices And the market will raise there middle fingers and ARM/AMD will take over personal computing mainstream and become the new omnipotent silicon/graphene superpower to rape our willing pocketbooks. Or we will be able to celebrate x86s 100th anniversary of backwards compatibility by installing that 14.4 pci modem I know everyone has been keeping around, just for that special occasion.... Ack well im shuffling things around i haggled a badass deal but have no way to pay for it as im typing this out on my 17x r3 that is suposed to be returned to free up my dell account lol. so ill prob get it ordered tomorrow on 3 different cards lol got 200 off, free shipping and half priced backpack lol took and i spent one and a half hours on the phone to do it lol
