1. fter the flashing with the x51 I have some problems. Boot, Windows 8.1 in the raid system and all seems to work fine BUT....

I did a test with Batman Arkham City and with the same configuration as before I had all the problems I got 30-40fps less than with the .30P bios. Also I tried to flash again the .30P bios to test and in dos mode the program doesn't let me downgrade the bios version.

Is this some kind of problem? Must I reinstall windows 8.1 because the .51x bios and the legacy option change some configuration and make the system go less powerful?

I think that the power boost/hybrid boost is not working now. any idea? Now I am not with the laptop. I will check if the battery is not fit in place but if it could be something else please tell me.

As I said the games don't play as fast as before.....

is this throttling issue related as with the T16/T17 fix with 16f3/1762 nb's? You did flash to T18 also right ya?

  2. is this possible to replace the gpu at your laptop ? at mine dell 7720 with gt650m its impossible cause the card is built in the mainboard

GT and GX series of MSI have upgreadable parts including the GPU. if you have other models other than this one then your conclusion is right

  3. Lots to talk about optimus. I recommend you google.

In this process, alot of things happen. CPU need more power, graphics especially Dx 9 will be very much influenced by it (=slows down) and even if it shows you 60fps, you will not feel like you are gaming in 60 fps.

But why only in 9XXm GPU's are affected with muxed nb's? vbios mod is the answer? If there's no revision of vbios, then AW18's only hope are AMD GPU's

  4. The problem is it only works when the iGPU is enabled. Since you do not have an iGPU it looks like there is no way for it to work.

Is iGFX and iGPU the same? anyways Primary display i saw in bios for MSI GT60-16F3 (one of my nb) have the following:

    Primary Display

    -Auto

    -iGFX

    -PEG

    -PCI

    -SG

I saw iGPU settings also in the bios... Do you think that 980/970m will work? i'll post pic later if its ok here to post.. thanks

  5. Hi

I own one MSI GT70-0NC with a GTX 670M I would like to know the upgrade possibilities. I was thinking to upgrade to a 970M but I am seeing I can be problems with the msi notebook bios or the new 970 bios if it is not msi.

Can you tell me what must I upgrade to be 100% compatible? If I can upgrade the laptop bios first I can have it prepared for the video bios.

    thanks in advance.

First look for @iTzZent. He's got the latest bios for GT60 (16F3)/70(1762). The 51x bios with T18 firmware. He said that bios can read from 6xx,7xx,8xx, up to 9xxm nvidia cards.. Or you can browse here his many posts...

I've successfully updated my GT60 (16F3) with the 51x bios... I'm just waiting for some people to try out the new 980/970m gpu's with this NB.. Still saving to get me one until This December.

  6. Yes, MSI use an other Heatsink for the GTX9**M Series, because the MXM Board has another Layout.

    GTX9**M Heatsink:

    GTX8**M / GTX7**M Heatsink:

Here you see the difference between the two cards (GTX870M vs GTX970M). Anything above the RAM chips, located at other positions.

MSI sells in Canada as just the GT60 2QD and the GT70 2QD with a GTX970M 3GB. When and where you can obtain the heatsink, I do not know.

but with the 16f3 and 1762 gt models have a great chance upgrading with this gpu's right? just update to 51x bios?

  7. You can change your Motherboard, when you find one from the GE70 2PE. Than you have a Maxwell GTX860M... Since the GE70 2PE the CPU is onboard, you don´t need a new CPU

It's sooo difficult to find a motherboard, plus the chassis of the board as well (if its not compatible with the old one)

  8. @admins/Moderators

I put my original thread here under MSI category

    http://http://forum.techinferno.com/msi/8000-oem-8gb-nvidia-gtx-880m-question.html

And this is the first time I've encountered this website while searching on google

OEM 8GB NVIDIA GTX 880M question

    http://www.techonce.net/threads/459105-OEM-8GB-NVIDIA-GTX-880M-question

They've just changed my name there several times.. Same topic, same conversation, different aliases. W-t-f!

  9. @Khenglish

Does it mean that even the old heatsink for GT60 (780/880m) could actually fit on with 980/970m? Thermal pads is the answer to fill those gaps?

Can someone get 4GB GDDR5 chips?

its the same layout design with the 8GB variant that Khenglish posted.... Btw clevo/sager mxm gpu's are MSI compatible too :-)
