  1. That sapphire trixx is coming in useful Awesome run dude, I hope the price on 2920xm drops soon so I can grab one and push 16k.
  2. Nice run, that's close to the highest I've gotten. I think with a 2920xm + voltage adjustments, the system could break 15.5-16k. It's too bad voltage adjustment isn't a possibility right now. I might try it again although I think the problem is hardwired into the card and we'll probably never have that ability.
  3. lol it does look real so it's expected. As for temps, after repasting, mine even with extreme burn in furmark doesn't exceed 74C. In games, it doesn't even reach above 72C even with overclocking.
  4. hahaha...that's what I was hoping some people would think. Did you try tapping on the screen? lol. Aren't they giving you a new build? I repasted my CPU/GPU and the temps are amazingly low. I've been playing Crysis 2 on extreme settings at 30-45+ fps @ 1080p with clocks at 830/1100.
  5. TruLife is just the bullshit marketing name for the glossy plastic they overlay.
  6. Not bad, you should push the memory further. It can easily do up to 1200 mhz.
  7. So what games are you playing right now? Since I'm in the process of doing my R3 review, I've got dirt 2, fuel, toca 3, metro 2033, l4d2, bf:bc2, homefront, gta iv, batman arkham asylum, and the starcraft 2 demo installed. I still would like to find another sci fi 3rd person game like mass effect 2 though, anyone have recommendations? I've heard good things about The Witcher.

Anyone else have this router? Mine has to be restarted twice a day due to complete signal loss. I've discussed this with Michael and was told I could install DDWRT to alleviate the issues. Anyone else have experience with DDWRT? I'll probably install it on my router in the next day or two after I get some other work done. Any recommendations for a different brand of router?
  9. Yeah sure is, blackcomb xt is exactly what the 5870s should have been when they were released. AMD half assed it with 128 bit memory interface, especially when they went from 256 bit memory in the 4870s. I always felt like the 5870s were not a real upgrade.
  10. Just an FYI: The M17x-R3 is fully functional without a discrete GPU when configured with the 6970M+60 hz option. The sandy bridge IGP takes over...pretty cool.
  11. 6970M is in my R2 with the 720qm processor. Vantage benchmark will be coming shortly.
  12. It's funny how Dell gave more robust bios support to the M15x than their flagship system.
  13. I removed the links and added in the pics. The attachment limit should be gone now.
  14. Inap, try adding an attachment now. Stupid vbulletin has preset limits.
  15. Do the fans work too? If so that will make it a viable alternative to an R3. Sure it's got older tech but it's build quality is light years better. Need more details, benchmarks, pics + divx.
  16. I'll upload my copy to a local T|I server. Tutorial has been updated. You can grab the link from there or go to the main T|I website and get it from the download section.
  17. It's now available, check it out: Miscellaneous Tutorials | Tech|Inferno
  18. 5870M voltages can be adjusted. Might just need an updated version of RBE but reading up on the desktop barts, it seems only reference boards had the vddc chip on board to manipulate voltages via software. Anyway, I'm hoping it's just RBE and nothing else.
  19. Editing the voltage above default results in bsod as soon as windows tries to load corruption of the display driver. It simply doesn't work.
  20. The PSU should not trip with those settings as long as the CPU isn't being run at 100% on all 4 cores either simultaneously. If that isn't the case, then double check your temperatures to make sure they are okay. If it continues and the temps are fine, I'd ask dell for a new PSU--the delta ones are better than flextronics. I can run mine w/the above settings all day long in furmark. I've put on a sustained load that exceeded 240W and the PSU didn't trip. Edit: I see you ran furmark BENCH. What if you run furmark burn in? I never run the bench so I'm not sure if it utilizes the CPU or not. Also which version are you using?
  21. AMD tried pushing their own version of a vidock but it failed.
