    Disconnecting egpu without bios ressetting

    Oh... I see. Thanks.
  3. I can disable the gpu from device manager and then disconnect it, but if I then hibernate and turn it back on, my computer does a CMOS reset (turns on to Asus logo, shuts off, and turns back on), the it just turns on as if I shut down. Is there some way to fix this? Has anyone else experienced this? When I boot with the hardware change, it does the cmos reset, and won't boot into the hibernated OS, instead just into Windows like normal.

I use the older driver. I didn't know modifying was possible

    GDC beast not turning on

Hey, thanks for replying. I got it working. It was dead on arrival and I got a new one. I am using mini PCIe.

@SoulKnotas I said, you should check out the link I sent there. Also verify you have an AMI Bios.

Ya, express card doesn't need it.

Hey @SoulKnot, check [redacted please private message for the link] (where I found out how), there is a post about it. I can walk you through if you would like (to unlock it yourself and modify it yourself to enable hotplugging). I'm pretty sure you have an Ami bios (because you have Asus like me). I did a stupid mistake and corrupted my bios and had to get a programmer and program it by opening up the computer, but now that I know the mistake, I can make sure you don't do it. (There is a notice on the techinferno unlocking tutorial, that's from me). @SoulKnot [ send a private message for a link to a tutorial online ]. Send a private message if you want me to try to walk you through it. I had zero experience before, but now that I have done it, I know it's not that hard. I was very hesitant to do it.

Did you mod your bios to enable hot plugging. I had to to get it working.

Are you using mpcie? It looks like we may have to mod our bios to enable hot plugging. I'm trying to figure out how to do that. EDIT: A new discovery has been found. Modding your bios is now NOT the only solution. Here is a solution Hope it works for you!

Did you figure this out? I have this problem now too. I have a GTX 1050 with EXP GDC Beast.

Exp Gdc Beast does not turn on

The card does not use the extra 6 pin connector, is this still supposed to plug into the beast?

    GDC beast not turning on

I am very new to this stuff, but i decided to try to do an eGPU setup. I have the EXP GDC Beast, a GTX 1050, and an EVGA 500 Watt power supply. I have the beast plugged into the power supply with the long 20 pin connector and the 4 pin connector labeled "CPU", but the beast and the PSU never turn on. There are no fans on and no lights. I can get it to turn on for half a second, then turn off again, if I unplug everything, then plug in the HDMI(plug that connects to computer), then the power, but it seems like that will break it, and this only happens when the left switch is set to "PWR". I have the left switch set to "ATX", and the right set to off. I have no whitelist because I have an Asus laptop, and the laptop turns on as if the GDC beast is not connected. Have any of you had this problem, I am stumped right now. Thanks!
