  1. I added the one I flashed to the drive folder. Probably won't make a difference though. I will change it back soon and flash it with my arduino SPI programmer to get it working again. I don't think having no clock would be able to put my laptop in an unfixable state but I could be wrong. After I get it working, I will probably try to get source 3 working. Is there a program that can emulate how the intel ME would work on my hardware that I can test it with before flashing? Could I get it working on a virtual machine? I want to make sure it works before flashing it again. I don't want to keep making the same mistake over and over.
  2. No wonder. That also explains why bios recovery mode wasn't working. I can still fix it with an SPI programmer right? Is there any chance something is broken? I hope not. I will try to see if I can get the actual original intel ME. I can get you the one that I flashed which is the smallest if you need.
  3. Ok. Well then i know exactly what happened. I have a backup of my original intel ME and will flash that. I seriously think that it should boot without it because it really doesn't need it. Anyway, I will need to do research on how to reflash the firmware without an SOIC clip since the one i ordered won't arrive until next month since it is shipping from overseas and I can't cancel it because it already shipped. I think my friend has a dead motherboard so maybe I can make one like this: http://budgetlightforum.com/node/18776. Although he might want to make one too and probably does but I am sure it has a few PCI connecters.
  4. The one I flashed was apparently the smallest. That would probably do it. The other two are the same size so I am sending both. Let me know if there is anything wrong with them. Also, how do I dump the ME firmware and the bios together? https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B1I1S9mpuQTrcGpYb0JrWVQweTQ?usp=sharing edit: I think I know what happened. Since I flashed the smallest one, I think that one was just intel ME. Problem was, I should have put the flag that tells FPT.exe not to wipe the chip before flashing. It wiped the chip and then installed ME. Just as I suspected. I am going to get my mac mini up and running with boot camp and create a bios rescue and try to flash the same file but with the correct flag so it doesn't erase the flash but just overwrites intel ME. Thanks for your help by the way. The mistake I made actually ended up being a good thing for me because I learned more about this category.
  5. Ok. I need to compare the capacity of the chip to the bios file size to see where me is installed. Also, FTIC made three files when I built it. They were in the same folder as FTIC.exe. Do I send all three?
  6. If it was originally on the second chip, does matter if I flash the bios and the me to the same chip? Also, when I built the firmware before I flashed it wrong, it made three files. I just flashed the first one and that didn't work. Am I supposed to flash all three? Also, how do I dump the ME firmware with the BIOS? I think the problem was that it wiped the bios and just installed the management engine.
  7. Mine has two. It would make so much more sense with one as a backup that always has the original bios and there was an jumper you could flip to get it to restore the backup.
  8. Damn it. I am going to try the built in bios recovery first. Just need to get someone to help me create the usb because my computer isn't working. Then, I will try again but do it correctly. I must have my CPU running at 2.0ghz instead of 1.8. The management engine firmware is stored in the bios right?
  9. I tried enabling overclocking. Now my laptop won't post. I know what I did wrong but I just don't know how to fix it. What do I do?
  10. Will this work on an HM77 Chipset? I have a Lenovo ideaPad S400 touch and I have ran a stress test for an hour and a half and the maximum I see the temperature hit is 71 Celsius. It usually runs at around 40 degrees on standard workloads. Also, does it need a locked CPU and what do I do if I wipe my bios? I really want to try this but am afraid of bricking my laptop. If there is a way to fix this, I will definitely try this. Please let me know.
