Hi Enjoy! How are you? I've been using it with climbshell and it's never hot, maybe because it's Retina though I don't play game on it, I only use it for my graphics applications. I was afraid to install the windows 10 on external hard drive because of my graphics applications and numerous plugins thinking they might not perform effectively . When will Nvidia make pascal driver for Mac? I know that I should be asking Nvidia that question not you.

Hi Enjoy! Thank you very much, Just installed windows 10 now, but how can use climbshell mode?
-
Thank you Simon753 That is great to know, that means that all windows applications will install on the same external drive, i am building the egpu because of rendering graphics design in After Effects which the graphics card in the MBPr is not supported so the rendering is very slow.

Thanks for the info, I am actually downloading windows 10 at the moment, but I would love to install the window 10 on external drive, will it still work fine? And would I still use the goalque script for install the driver or I will have to do it manually?

Hi Enjoy! Thank you very much, I managed to install the driver with the goalque script, but system sees it as display, bus PCle and it says in the Kernel Extension info that No Kext Loaded.

Thank you very much, I have MBP 15" retina mid 2015 on OS Sierra 10.12.3. My problem at this moment is that after the csrutil disable then i press return and it says the SIP is disable successfully, then I type reboot and press return, the system will reboot back to OS normally showing Apple logo and requesting me to login instead of rebooting back in the terminal for me to use the goalque automate script, the same thing on my iMac 27" late 2012 with the same Sierra 10.12.3.

Hi! The system could not boot back into the terminal after typing csrutil disable the I press enter, it was successfully disabled and I type reboot then pressed enter. but to my surprise it boot back OS opening image asking me login instead of booting back into terminal console in order for me to run the automated script. I believe i was following the step by step instructions

Hi Enjoy! Thank you very much for support. My Startech.com 6 inch PCI Express Power Splitter Cable arrived today with EVGA GTX 1060 SC, and I bought a very nice desktop files rack which I will cut for mesh. Waiting for the Akitio and Dell DC DA2. Do you know what size is the Akitio fan and if it is quiet and can be replace it with corsair fan? I am so excited, can wait to start putting things together, also got my paperclip available . The barrel that I ordered has 3 barrel plugs, I guess I will just remove the other two plugs and connect all the wires to the one that I will use because they are 3 yellows and 3 blacks.

Wow! Thanks for the prompt response, I truly appreciate it. Will put things together as soon as they are delivered. I shall keep you posted.

Please I would also like to know if you cut the height of the Male pin for the 90 degrees 6 pin you use from one of your Startech.com 6 inch PCI Express Power Splitter Cable for the Akitio to be able to close?

Hi! What a great setup/build, I love it. I love to build such with my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB. My primary reason for building is to accelerate the performance of rendering in my motion graphics applications (e.g. Adobe and Cinema 4D) not really for gaming. I already ordered the Akitio Thunder 2, planning to order the GTX 1060 GPU and other stuffs that it is needed. But read that the GTX 1060 draws about 300w and the Dell DA2 is 220w, is that enough to power the box and the GPU together? and can I still remove the VGA and hook external monitor via HDMI when like?

US$189 AKiTiO Thunder2 PCIe Box (16Gbps-TB2)
Awesome replied to Tech Inferno Fan's topic in Enclosures and Adapters
Hi Guys, I am a Motion Graphic Student, having problem with rendering my projects in MacBook pro and iMac, later found out that I'll need eGPU to be able to render flawlessly. I've been reading the post on this topic and i and very glad that i found this forum before ordering Bizon, but my problem now is that I do not have any technical knowledge about this and i am very worried if I would be able to assemble the AKiTiO Thunder2 PCIe Box because its not plug and play. I wondering if there is anyone around from Edmonton, Canada that can help me.
