    please send the picture of your modded BIOS setting bro :)
    what setting must be enable so we can do hot pluging?

    modded bios depends on your motherboard and what version. you need to know if you are using phoenix, ami bios and look for the modded version in the website provided by @Darkthor.

    what you need to enable once all the option is unlocked is the hotplug for pcie.

    Hotplugging  isn't what you say it is.

    Start here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hot_swapping

    Then read this:

    OUR problem here is USING it AFTER it gets detected.The problem is with the drivers themselves , not the MB not accepting/recognising the card.

    If the issue was with hotplugging, we'd use egpu 1.30  and just  load a PCI dump that works, for example the wifi card. We would use it, in layman's terms, if the gpu would not be detected by windows, or it would have issues allocating.

    A few posts ago you asked for nv_dispi.....and i explained why it's useless above.

    Since you mention it works... i really gotta ask how were you able to mod your bios  but you don't understand the nv-dispi ' s role.

    how did you mod your bios? what program did you use? did you use a chip reader?

     also, can you show us proof the gpu actually works? like a screenshot with dev manager, gpu-z with clock speeds and dxdiag ? or maybe ingame where you can select which gpu to use?

    here is my proof

    Yes I'm still struggling to have my GTX 1050 in working order still lol. I have discovered that I cannot enable Hot-plugging on my mpcie due to my bios being locked up. I have searched up for a modded version of my bios over and over again. Thanks for doing this :D

    My System:

    Picture is of HWiNFO64 of my mpci information (Says hot plugging not capable :logik:)

    found the guy who can mod your bios however i can't post here his email (got penalty once after i posted my email )

    flashed my bios with the version that opens all option available (got it from a forum about bios mods). with regards to the "evidence" i will post it here once i get home as im still at work

    if.

    for example, on my asus, i dont have that option, not even hidden & locked .

    yes, but for those who do, you guys don't need to mod the nv_dispi. just enable hot plug/swap for your Mpcie. if you have uefi MB just enable it, if you have bios, search for a way to open/unlock all option

    Can you tell me how do you do it (steps  please), i just unistall drivers with DDU and then after restart a do a clean install of driver 375.95, restart after that and nothing still show de code 43 error.

    One thing that i saw is the laptop installing again the gt 750m driver, and the gtx 1050 ti appears too but with de warning icon how can this happen if am using the nvidia driver desktop for the gtx 1050 ti, Since it can happen if before this i unistall all the drivers (sorry for me english).

    specs:

    lenovo y400

    i7 3630qm

    gt 750m

    just install like you would normally do and ignore the error 43 you will get, restart your computer and the error 43 should be gone. however i had to go back to 375.63 as im experiencing problems when im playing the division.

    NV_DISPI talk time

    Let's clear something out about this NV_DISPI.inf  everyone is crazy about.

    It's not the holy grail and THE file that you need to worry about ! NV_dispi can be FINE and you're still screwed.

    Why?

    READ ON FOR ONCE:

    NV_DISPI.iNF is a instruction/ descriptor file that is used during install AND adds in your registry certain informations {HKLM }  regarding copied files and their USE by Windows AND copy  specific files from the display driver folder  to the system folders (like system32 / syswow64 ) and activate specific services required by your GPU. Even if it's perfect , if a DLL is screwed or from another driver, you're screwed.

    And good luck finding out which of the TONS of dll's and registry keys is screwed.

    Thinking that just having the correct nv_dispi file will fix stuff, is ludicrous.

    It's like saying if you have instructions on how to build a rocket, you don't need the correct materials (dll's)

    Once again: nvdispi is a set of instructions to your pc as to

    -what deviceID  that specific driver supports (THIS is what you can mod- desktop to mobile , otherwise 99% it wont work)

    -what files to copy for a specific deviceID from the mountain of dll's inside the driver folder

    -what registry keys  system needs to ADDRESS the dll's and USE them for the display drivers

    -what services  it will have/install/use for your display driver.

    -what other instructions it must follow if a specific dll / instruction table is copied (in my case, nvami- i have an ASUS) Why does modding nv_disp work from desktop to laptop?

    -if all these sound like mumbo-jumbo or you dont understand what they do/are , please stop right here. it's definitely out of your league.

    ( Acer & Gateway = nvaci.inf
    Asus = nvami.inf
    Apple = nvaoi.inf
    Compal = nvcti.inf
    Clevo (Sager & other re-brands) = nvcvi.inf
    Dell & Alienware = nvdmi.inf
    Fujitsu = nvfmi.inf
    HP = nvbli.inf
    HP = nvhmi.inf
    LG = nvloi.inf
    Lenovo = nvlti.inf
    MSI = nvmii.inf
    NEC = nvqni.inf Siemens = nvfui.inf
    Sony = nvszci.inf
    Toshiba Qosmio = nvtdi.inf
    Toshiba = nvtsi.inf

    ....etc )

    Why it works to mod the nv_dispi and nvami/etc  to install desktop drivers on laptop edition gpu?

    -Because the gpu inside your laptop it's the same architecture as the desktop one, with (usually) same  parameters , same processor, just "dumbed down" and underclocked like crazy so it can work with the power requirements your laptop has.

    -If the architecture is different, there is 99% chance it will never ever work, or just error out.

    Even if it's modded, if the dll you need  (..GOD knows which ! ) , has a bad syntax somewhere....you're screwed.

    It's like forcing a square peg in a round hole and hoping the paint won't chip on either.

    Doesn't work like that.

    PS:

    An ENTIRE forum says it's not working ....and your "friend" says it is.

    I smell something fishy....as in i call bullsh*t.

    I think it's one of those troll posts like "i got it running! woot!...." and the guy disapears  off the face of the planet after 2 posts.

    If it's NOT and it's legit, I want to see GPU-Z screenshot and dxdiag screenshot, display adapters screenshot of the integrated GPU, laptop model, setup , and windows version.

    And a benchmark, any benchmark, off the iGPU and Egpu.If not, it's bullcrap..

    Why?

     It may look like it's working, but gpu-z  wont give any readings off the Mhz of the gpu. 100%. It's an intermitent error I had sometimes when I installed 1050ti over the base drivers, and they somehow got mixed.  The gpu doesnt work at all, and after you uninstall everything and DDU, you will get error 43, like normally.

    Even if it says it's working normally, gpu-z WILL NOT, i repeat...WILL NOT give correct Clock readings....aka: bogus installation.

    And I'm coming back to what the last 6 pages wrote,and NO ONE NEW TO THE FORUMS cares to READ:

    1050 Ti  DOES....NOT.... WORK ...OVER...mPCIE  YET  !!!!

    Stop littering the thread !

    if you can enable hot plugging on your mpcie thru your MB then you dont need to do any modding. im currently using gtx 1050 ti oc on my acer aspire v3-471g windows 10 laptop with exp gdc beast v8.0 setup with no mod . just mod my bios to enable all option and VIOLA!!!

    So.. I'm kinda new to all this egpu stuff. Deal is that I got 1050Ti and surprise, surpise, I get that 43 code error.
    After reading this topic I see that's problem with drivers, but some people some how manage to run them.
    Anyone fancy helping out noob in this businness?

    Laptop: Acer V3-571G
    Cpu: I7-3630qm
    Gpu: GT-640m
    Adapter: Exp Gdc Beast V8 (yeah it works, I tested it with 750ti and had no problem)
    mPcie set to enable hot plug in bios.

    And for now, well just thanks for anyone that manages to get a solution and will share with us :)

    Edit: well dunno why, but after simple driver uninstall I just installed 375.63 drivers, and suddenly it started working :|

    You should be able to use 375.95. Thats what im using now

    I might remember it incorrectly. But I think that I only installed a newer driver untop of the old one and for some reason I did not have to restart. But that might be my memory playing tricks on me

    it worked for you probably because you are using express card. tried both with 375.63 and got code 43 instantly.

    can email me a copy of your new nv_dispi, see if that'll help

  9. 3 minutes ago, forfudgesake said:

    As I posted earlier that driver probably wont give the expected performance. There is a silver lining however and that is that you can update the driver to a newer version without restarting (I think), so if your willing to do that after every restart I guess you should be able to get okay performance

    how did you update? tried force and normal updating but after doing so gives me code 43, using mPCIE

  10. 1 hour ago, forfudgesake said:

    Yes, the modified drivers gave me terrible performance. Now I installed the oldest drivers available for the 1050ti and for some reason it worked this time, must be some other change I made that ended my error (it really sucks that error 43 is such a general error message, two completly different errors can give the same error code). So now I'm on 375.63 and it works with expected performance!

    I just installed 375.63 without using DDU to uninstall 372.70 (with modification), so it might be something that happened there. But probably it is just because expresscard is marked as hotplug capable (so if you can change advanced pcie settings in bios you might still be lucky if your trying to run over mpcie) and that I change something else since last time I tested the driver (for instance delay on the adapter although I think I tested that the last time aswell).

    So probably this is why 375.63 works for me! As "Hotplug-option" for pcie should be default for expresscard slots (that is their entire purpose)

    can sen me a copy of your nv.dispi. tried to replicate your steps but still cant install driver on 372.70

  11. which driver version were you able to get the .inf file for 1050 ti? was able to find one in nvdmi.inf but it has a different DEVid 1C82.079A.1028, im looking for 1C82.6253.3842 for acer

    4 hours ago, forfudgesake said:

    I got rid of error 43 by adding 1050ti to 372.70 inf file. But I have not had time to test it properly! I shows up in gpu-z at least, with all specs properly defined

    can you share to me how you managed to add 1050 ti to 372.70 inf file please, i have an acer laptop thanks
