  1. JapzT- Welcome to TI. Just wondering what your specs are? Did you get red or black? Such a hard decision. Keep us posted on your progress.
  2. Just wondering about the pre-installed games WOW and Eve Online, are they full versions or just demos? Edit: Subscription based. Should have looked first:/
  3. Reg- I am sure you will have to return it with the same specs. However, if you choose a replacement just swap out the upgrades in your old one and return it with the new memory and drive.
  4. Congrats on you new toy. Great picture. Can you possibly take more pictures of the black finish. Your camera really rocks.
  5. Does the wireless kit enable you to also access files, i.e. windows explorer and browse the web?
  6. Yes, it relly got out of hand. Finally, a thread closed on NBR for a valid reason. Look forward to your takedown video
  7. Great news you are going for a replacement. Now you can continue providing vital information on your faulty one. I say we all hop over to NBR and tell steviejones that Micheal Dell himself is going to deliver it to you. Na

  9. JCrichton- Just saved a 120GB 510 on my newegg wishlist for funds to become available. I am looking to add an additional 500GB disk drive. What would be the best solution, raid or just internal storage for most media files and software?

  11. littleone- Congrats on your new 18. We have been waiting for a space black owner to post some pictures, please enlighten us if you can. Thanks
  12. And the rest of us cant wait. Just a couple of quick questions. How is the screen (I was considering an outlet r2 for the RGB screen. Do you have a wireless video receiver? And,
  13. hurray, we all look forward to your unboxing pictures and your first impressions. you know this thread is about to really take off. good luck
  14. wbabt007- I am going with this one (NotePal U2) which is also from CoolerMaster. I like that the fans can be placed right under the laptop fans for better air flow where it is needed most. NotePal U2 - Cooler Master
  15. Way to go Brian! The only thing I would add was the 4yr warranty. This beast will fly off the shelf at this pricing. Can't wait for your review.
  16. Brian- Just want to know your thoughts on going with the BD for $150+? I really want to get the longest warranty I can afford, and will only be able to do that by cutting corners. I think the most important options are CPU, GPU CF or SLI, HD hybrid 500GB, wireless, and wireless video streaming with receiver and finally warranty.
  17. UBL gone, possible M18x release tomorrow....the planets are aligned:)
  18. Brian- Who would have thought we would be looking at a $4500 price tag for your config. OUCH!!! I still want a gaming laptop with a lighted keyboard (not Asus)
  19. I have to agree with all of you. I will be looking at other options for my gaming rig. To bad I love the FX lighting. There is no other laptop that even comes close to the look of AW. All I really wanted was a lighted keyboard, and do not like the ASUS laps. Oh well
  20. We can only hope your right. The fact that they offer the 485M SLI as an option, even if one was to chose 6970M, is good for the M18x overall. The stronger the sales the better the driver support, and the sooner they may push v2. Ash great info. rep+1
  21. Brian- I think you nailed the "sweet spot" with this config., that should hike it up to around $3200. I am still leaning towards black but have to admit the red/green does look sic. Also, congrats on getting banned from the biggest AW event this century. +1 rep
  22. Wait...wait...wait...for the AW M18x to be released. While I wait for this beast to hit the market, I would like to know what the best GPU option is. Both of these cards get great reviews but here are some points I have found. Nvidia seems to have the best driver support but tends to produce more heat and the AMD runs a little cooler and does not offer 3D support (although the M18 may not support 3D). It seems to me that driver support is very important for the future of you rig. I will be using my lappy for basic gaming, web browsing, and movies. Here is the comparison chart: Comparison of Laptop Graphics Cards - Notebookcheck.net Tech Also, here is an AW M18x slideshow: YouTube - Alienware M18x "Avenger" Edit: I know the 485M has not shown up, but all indicators point to it becoming available.
