Are new macOS Nvida drivers a forgone conclusion?

I want upgrade my rMBP with Akitio and GTX1070 too. I just notice that Nvidia release the CUDA 8.0 toolkit which support Pascal architecture, the toolkit support OS X, maybe Nvidia has not abandoned the Mac platform. So I guess Nvidia may release the driver after Apple launch the new macOS on September or October, just guess
