I am. But that's mostly because I have a load of refund money to do so from my M17x-R2. If I was buying it with "new money" I would have to think about value = price/performance.I imagine the responses from others will be something like it's easy to do if you know what you are doing.

I'm pretty lucky that my wife trusts me with the finance cuz I'm a control freak that way. Still, I always run big purchases past her.

Gak. Price is high but my refund for the busted M17x-R2 was just processed so I have a nearly 5k credit sitting on my Dell Preferred account. I still think I'm gonna wait until I can get to the sales/config page from the Alienware/Dell site directly. EDIT: Also, I want to see what the price is through EPP and I don't feel like calling.

Didn't the presenter say that it would be factory overclocked "for the first time to ###" or something like that. I could be remembering wrong.

I gotta be honest, I'm willing to spend the extra money for performance since I'm likely already dropping around 4 grand on this thing. I'd love to know if the extra money is worth it by the time they launch because right now it looks like the ATI offering is just a better value.

Gonna plop in my Intel X-25 160gb SSD hard drive for starters. I wanna go with the extreme processor but it will be a while until I get the confidence to take advantage of it. Best Dual-GPU setup (whatever that is after I get all the info I need). Likely 8gb RAM and I'll upgrade myself if I want more. Intel Wifi. Blu-ray player. Not sure what else. Wireless HDMI (if available).

Okay, what exactly is IGP?

I didn't catch it but since the M17x had the option I see no reason why the M18x wouldn't have the solo option. Right?

Man, I really hope so. I like my Orion backpack!
