  1. I'm experiencing the same problem on my MBP15 late 2013. I described it here. Again I'ts ZOTAC GTX 970. I think it's an issue! If only i could get another card. I killed so much time again, trying resolve thing nasty issue. Edit: In my case, windows 10 installed in EFI mode wont start even if i cleaned up all display drivers with Display Driver Uninstaller. Both intel and nvidia drivers are completely wiped out, and still having inifinit dot spinning on boot up. Windows 7 runs still ok.
  2. Looks like it's a very common here 'cant pass spinning wheels' on Windows 10. I can pass sometimes, but it does not helps. Everything looks good, but I can not play games using my Zotac GTX 970. It just uses Intel iris
  3. MB without dGPU. Optimus does work in Windows 7.
  4. Finally i managed to boot in MBR mode once again. And Optimus is not working.
  5. I'm running AKiTiO + Zotac GTX970 + MBP15 late 13 setup on windows 7 in mbr mode and it's fine. But now im trying to move all of these on window 10, temporary testing on USB external HDD for exeriments. So, what im doing. I'm starting fresh windows 10, install bootcamp, shutdown, connect eGPU, startup, install nvidia drivers, restart. After that moment windows wont startup - the white dots cycling around infinitely and hdd keeps silence. I tried: install windows in MBR and EFI mode, use old bootcamp drivers and new bootcamp drivers, update windows fully and not update windows at all, install latest nvidia drivers and 361, update intel iris drivers. All the same, it just hangs on startup if eGPU is connected. Once i managed to load at last. Device manager reported everything is ok, but optimus mode was not working at all. I could not boot window anymore. I read the posts in thread about nvidia released windows 10 optimus support, and nobody seems clushes with such problem as me.
  6. Thanks. Funny thing is that double cable has it's effect.
  7. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thunderbolt_(interface): Thunderbolt v1: 10 Gbit/s per channel (20 Gbit/s in total). Thunderbolt v2: 20 Gbit/s aggregated channels (20 Gbit/s in total). Thunderbolt v3: 40 Gbit/s AKiTiO has 2 TB ports (for what? for 2xTB1 connection?) and Macbook has 2 ports.
  8. I'm finishing my setup with AKiTiO Thunder2, and to my surprise using 2 x Thunderbolt cables actually decrease performance if compare to 1 x Thunderbolt cable. I'm using Far Cry 4 for testing. 1 x Thunderbolt cable gives me 68 fps on native resolution, meanwhile 2 x Thunderbolt cables gives me 45! fps. I'm confused. Can anyone confirm or refute? Also i've noticed that in implementation hub under 'bandwidth' column some values like 16Gbps-TB2 are present. AFAIK TB2 has 10Gbps bandwidth.
  9. I have installed Windows 8.1 on USB drive. Hibernation mode on win 8.1 is not available at all. Both my Win7 and Win8 installed in MBR mode. Do you have EFI Win8?
  10. Hibernate is not working too. This options is available, but it only logging off and disables the screen. Any activity instanlty turns the display on. It is definetely not hibernation mode. Optimus mode is enabled and working well.
  11. Hi all. I've got my eGPU setup working on MacBook Pro Late 13, but unfortunately i can not get 'Sleep' working on my Windows 7 x64 with any nVidia drivers. I really really need the sleep mode to fix the known problem with constant cpu utilization on MacBooks since Yosemite upgrade. This is the only known workaround working on my MacBook. powercfg -a gives me: The following sleep states are available on this system: Hibernate The following sleep states are not available on this system: Standby (S1) The system firmware does not support this standby state. Standby (S2) The system firmware does not support this standby state. Standby (S3) The system firmware does not support this standby state. Hybrid Sleep Without eGPU i got Standby (S3) also as available. Does anybody got working sleep mode?
  12. I did a DSDT override, 'large memory' root appeared in device manager, but still DIY eGPU Setup 1.2 PCI compaction reports 'no solution found' on 36 bit and 'eGPU only' option. EDIT: 1.3 with same options does the same as 32bit compaction - windows cant see eGPU at all.
  13. Windows 7 x64 (MBR), AKITIO Thunder2, Zotac GTX970, no dGPU. It works on Windows 8.1 (MBR), but i prefer Windows 7 for some reasons. PS Finally i got my GFX970 working on Windows7 x64. Thanks to Nando for help.
  14. I defenitely need help getting rid of error 12 on my MacBook Pro Late 2013. I tried both DIY eGPU Setup 1.3 and 1.2. PCI compaction on 1.3 gives system freeze at the end if i choose 'all pci devices' or 'all except SATA, PATA, USB, SSD, ect' (or maybe just both of my keyboards stops working). If i choose only eGPU or eGPU + iGPU and boot to windows, my GTX970 won't even displayed in Device Manager. While PCI compatcion procedure is executed, i always see 6 errors in a row complaining something about overlapping 'bridge should not overlap..." With DIY eGPU Setup 1.2 PCI compaction of 'iGPU + eGPU' or 'eGPU' always fails no matter what options i choose. If choose 'all pci devices' or 'all except ...' i see only a message kind of '11 new external methods found. Reparsing' and system freezes. Maybe i should wait a little longer, i dont know. What else can i do?
