@J95 thanks I'll try this when I get a chance. Probably another stupid question but can I install GFE separate later for SLi game profiles or should I stay away from it all together?QuoteDon't install GFE, keep these folders only.

Ok guys I have a question that's made my head itch abit! If anyone can shed some light on it would be much appreciated
I've been running driver v355.83 @J95 mod on stock vBIOS. Since the release of MG phantom pain (1st Sept) and it has been performing flawlessly with no throttle while gaming. Only last night throttling started occasionally and got worse and worse like a pledge!!!
Now my question is WHY?!? Lol... Why suddenly? I haven't changed anything. And would reinstalling the driver make any difference?

Could you go into more detail? I'm quite computer illiterate.
My startup doesn't have F8, only F2 and F12. I have disabled driver Signature enforcement, and typed in the bcedit thing from elevated cmd.
Still getting the graphics driver installatioon failed.
Thanks
If you look through this forum all the needed instructions have been explained step by step so even the least 'computer savy' can follow!
Take a look at this page. It has a step by step guide including photos on disabling driver signuature enforcement
Do you know how to use J95s INF mod file and how to extract driver/replace this file prior to install?

Also using windows 8.1
Also using 355.82 driver with no issues.
Follow J95s instructions properly and you should be fine mate. Also make sure to run DDU in safe mode before new installation

Can't install the driver. M18x R2, 980M SLI
Can pass the hardware check but fails at driver install.
Screen flashes and says graphics driver installation failed.
Any advice?
Did you follow this step??
->*reboot*-> F8 -> select 'Disable Driver Signature Enforcement' -> Install drivers.

That's what I wanted to know as well. Is v353.62 not safe or running properly? That's why the INF MOD files have been taken off?!
Lol I'm so confused been away for little while

I'm on the fence with upgrading to windows 10.
Quick question DDU still works with win10? And does it disable auto update? I hear there is no way to turn it off in windows 10 :$

I am using svl7 vbios. These kinds of clocks and scores are unachievable with stock vbios.
Of course its not possible on stock. I have only tried Prema's mod and get severe throttling either gaming or benchmarking using various drivers.
Could you please post a link for the sv17 vbios you are using? It would save me time googling lol.

By the way, I forgot to mention that I tested the latest drivers both in Optimus and Dedicated mode.

353.49 with @J95 modded inf files does not throttle in either mode.
Optimus:
Dedicated:
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3740QM Processor,Alienware M17xR4 (a bit higher clocks)
Are you using stock vbios?
From what I've been experiencing throttling is mainly an issue with SLi systems

Thank you haXBOXpro,I'll try it.
[emoji3] I would also recommend doing a power cycle to hopefully remove any "protection measure" locks currently on gpu. Seems likely if the system shut down suddenly!

i've problem with metro 2033 redux when i've play it my m17xr4 980m reach 80 c system auto shutdown without warning can i fix it pls advice,i use
350.12 with peg mod prema mod stock clock vbios.
Hey buddy I had similar problem before try these and see if it helps.
Try a different driver and find one that runs well with ur system. (v353.06 peg mod works for me)
Re fash your card with your stock vbios backup (might need to re flash a few times)
And don't forget to use DDU in safe mode everytime you uninstall a GeForce driver.
Hope it helps solve your issue

Which is decent, this makes it like as powerful as the desktop version really.

I guess I could test a whole bunch of them, if i tried. But, what does the values really mean, for you J95. How does it help you ?
I could literally ask a few hundred people I've sold too, what their's is. I think I will ask a few at least, maybe direct them to this thread, to help, but would be easier if i knew how it helps, really.
I got my cards from you aswell on ebay!! They are running beautifully in my beast (after finding the right driver that is)... u can see my ASIC score above is pretty decent one @77.0 other @66.6. can I swap the one with lower ASIC? (Joking) lol

@J95. I did as you asked. except i had to run 3dMark at "performance level" only option available on demo.
hope its what you need

Thanks, but we need stock vbios 3D voltage readings @1126 UEFI NVFLASH_WIN_5.218_x64 (password premamod.com)
*Stock vBIOS*
Due to missing and/or inaccurate readings *throttling* Once again, please run the GPU-Z render test.
@twin snakes: ASIC 66.5% 3D voltage @1126
@tony7755333: 70.2% like above, 3D voltage readings @1126
@Mr. Fox: 72.8% & 76.7% 3D voltage readings @1126, both cards
@haXBOXpro: 66.6% missing 3D voltage reading, second card both ASIC & 3D voltage @1126.
Thx.
@J95 hope this is correct and of some help!
1st two are GPU0, last two GPU1 readings.
