  1. I'm not sure what you mean. If you look at the components in both the links I posted, they both use USB. The main challenge would be finding an mPCIe adapter that uses USB 3.0. Yes, if I'm going to end up buying it eventually anyway there's no reason to waste money on cheaper hardware that may fail. I'm just wondering if it would be a better idea to put the money toward buying a whole new computer instead of rigging a card to my laptop. I will have to see what my financial situation ends up being in a month or so.
  2. Maybe I'm just being a little ignorant, but how much difference is there between the PE4C and something like [this] with a connector like [this] instead of the one that comes with it. Is it just a case of getting what you pay for? I was going to buy v2.1 but now that v3.0 is out I guess there's no reason to (even though I don't really like the soldered-on cable setup). I'm wondering if I should wait for it to hit amazon or just go ahead and buy it, but at $88 it would cost more than the graphics card I intend to purchase. Is there any difference in speed between using ExpressCard and mPCIe? ExpressCard would be more convenient but I don't want to sacrifice performance if I'm paying this much for something I can't switch out the connectors on.
