this morning i sent the card back to evga, when it will be back i"ll try everythings again and i will let you know. with my first card the setup works fine until start of any game where the card was emitting a strange noise and then automatic reboot. thank you for your help and sorry for my poor english !!!

i've checked well, i tried also to connect the gpu directly to the akitio without the 16x -16x extension cable but nothing... same problem. it's really strange because 3 days ago it works and now no more signal... i think i will do an RMA again

yes i'm using an external monitor connected to the gpu by HDMI. i have installed the correct driver for my gpu. (the egpu works fine, with black screen of death during the game but works, until 3 days ago)

My problem is that the egpu, from 3 days ago, it is not longer recognized, the fans are moving strangely, them are doing just very small movements. i'm going to do a UEFI installation because, as you said, i will have a lot of benefits but now if my gpu doesn't work i don't know how can i flash the bios so i'm f""""d. The EVGA support offer to me to pick the card up with UPS and flash/exchange it

my setup is: Antec VP550F EVGA GTX 970 SC ACX 2.0 Akitio Thunderbolt 16x - 16x Pcie riser molex thunderbolt cable from akitio Macbook Pro 15 early 2013 TB1 - Bootcamp Win 8.1 pro 64bit I start my setup in this way: 1 turn on the psu 2 connect it to my mac 3 turn on the mac (i set the turn on automatically on bootcamp) 4 diy egpu 1.2 5 here the egpu is not recognized

the problem is that the egpu doesn't appear in the device manager, (5 days ago it works) the macbook recognize the akitio and the thunderbolt but not the card... i can't trying with an other PSU, i'm talking with the EVGA support and are saying that i have to flash the bios but it's impossible for me because is not recognized. maybe i will do an RMA again

yes i will install windows 8.1tomorrow, and i will buy a molex barrel! my power supply is this one: antec VP550F EC and if i use the original cable to supply the akitio could be fine? i know it is one more cable and is not necessary if i use a molex cable but maybe... thank you for your help !

yes yes i can use windows without playing anygames, the problem occurs when i try to launch every games, example: i launch far cry 4, after ten second the the egpu crash, the same for every game or benchmark ! black screen and then automatic reboot. maybe could be the molex connector that isn't giving enough power to the akitio?

i've RMA my card once time because i tought was it but wasn't, i reinitialized my windows partition, i reinstalled the invdia drivers, i've deleted geforce experience. my PSU is ANTEC 550. i use a riser molex to power the akitio . could be the PSU the problem? (sorry for my english)

With your gtx970 have you ever had any problem such as black screen and crash while are you opening games ? because with mine evga gtx 970 happens everytime

Thank you very much! finally it works !!! but now i have another problem, when i'm in windows and everything is working fine, i try to play to call of duty AW and the eGPU crash and the computer too. i can't play it because everytime the eGPU will restart... i have to install something? i've installed the latest driver's from EVGA website UPDATE: I found online that the problem could be call of duty AV that is crashing when i turn on the antialiasing, could you suggest some software to monitoring my eGPU or something which could keep more stable the eGPU? Thanks

now the problem is PCI_ALLOC_VALID says NO ... why? i followed this step: "initialize eGPU/run compcat all except sata ecc/startup.bat test run/ (at this step PCI_ALLOC_VALID says NO) so i'm blocked here

i've installed DIY setup 1.2 but now i found this error and i don't know how can i do. when i click: pci compaction/ run compact/ "no solution found. set other PCI compaction options then try again". do you know how can i do? because also in windows / device manager i can't see it...

I tried but on external monitor doesn't appear nothing... The internal monitor is continues to work. Also windows can't recognize the egpu (in hardware and sound are shown only the internal components and no the egpu)
