1. Watercooling components:

A few days ago the package with the majority of the components arrived, followed by two smaller packages this week.:D

I ordered a new fan controller, the NZXT Sentry Mix, very powerful :bull_head::tyrannosaurus: 50W per channel:p a dream:love-struck: with this controller it should be no problem to connect multiple fans to one channel.:excitement:

In the next few days I will remove everything that is currently mounted in the Xigmatek Elysium Case. I will make some modifications to the case to allow the installation of all components.

At the moment I'm preparing the cables for the resleeving.

    @Khenglish: I don't hope, I'm convinced;)

@capchaos: Nice :D Which temperatures reach your cards? Do you cool only the graphics cards with water cooling or processor, mb,...too?:joyous::confused:

5150 Joker: The design of a water block for the GTX TITAN would be no problem, but there are already many models available and it would be difficult to offer the water blocks for a reasonable price.:greedy_dollars::frog:

  3. @ConkersGrillforce1337 looks great though all those wires look like a mass of spaghetti. Speaking of which, my AX1200i arrived and I bought 4 Corsair AF120 quiet fans yesterday, just waiting on the sleeved cables to arrive before I re-do my system. Next step will be proper water cooling and possible move to a bigger case (e.g. CaseLabs SMH10).

Yes yes always this mockery about my cable management.:anonymous::miserable:

I see you have not yet upgraded enough :joyous: Your signature will probably not come to rest in the coming months :playful:

Oh yes, at the Geneva Motor Show you can really admire everything that the car market has to offer. :love-struck:

I want to drive the Mercedes AMG SLS electric once. An incredible piece of technology, four engines, one per wheel, with a total of 751hp and 1000Nm torque :P

The new Lamborghini Veneno looks like a hell car.:devilish:

  6. Well since I've been having performance issues here and there I have been trying to find out if it's something fixable. One thing I noticed is that my PCIE reading was 2.0 16x so I used an Nvidia patch to open up my 3.0 but I don't think it made a difference. I guess only Ivy Bridge i7's are really PCIE 3.0, which is funny cause only LGA1155 are 3.0 with Ivy's and my LGA2011 Sandy mobo says it supports 3.0.. But maybe I'm missing something..

When I bought my parts for the new computer I was really surprised to find out the 3900k CPU's were last generation.

I'm going to get that 2nd Titan in my hands before I worry about switching mobo's and leave that as a last resort but something seems fishy in my system right now. Heck I got a drop in fps in Crysis 2 for crying out loud.. Just strange, even though my 3Dmark scores seems right on.

Things were so simple with my SLI'd 680m mobile :P

Use this executable if you want to enable Gen3 on your X79 board. The gain is minimal, some points more in benchmarks and probably a few FPS more in games.

You won't get PCI Express 3.0 with sandy, you need an ivy cpu. However you won't see any noticeable gains with a single titan.

    This is true.

  7. Are you going to mount some water blocks on those naked chips?

This is exactly what I'll do :joyous: I'm working on the design of the watercooler, it will be about 300g lighter than the previous models, this is already apparent.:Banane54:

  8. Those GF110s still have all their resistors! Nice job!

Now the next step is to find some titans off ebay and solder them in so you have the world's first dual titan card. Both have 384bit memory so it HAS to work!

Hehe if you show that it works, two Titans are in my possession:tyrannosaurus:

Wasn't it the goal that all parts are still there?:playful: To be honest, without heating the IHSs up to 95-100°C, it would probably be very difficult to complete this process without causing damage, because very little space is available.

Now that it's done, of course, the action has paid off, especially in relation to the design of the water cooler.:excitement:

  9. TressFX is still buggy, it looks good in gameplay but in cutscenes the hair spazz out and looks weird.

Do you play with AMD hardware? With my two GTX Titans I still have strong flickering when playing the game with TressFX enabled. Latest patch and graphics driver is used.

The game is well made, but unfortunately the single player game again worth little and the multiplayer is not very appealing. When trying I have found only lobbies with the option search any game.

  10. I would have just liked to have seen more work on bf3 weapons instead of dlc's as they are introducing a new game but the old one still has OP weapons and major glitches but hey money is starting to be main objective now with bf series its fast going the cod direction ..shame

You mean even more changes to the weapons behavior using oversized patches?!?:stupid: Or do you mean just adding additional weapons and vehicles rather than additional maps?

  11. World Exclusive

    Naked Asus MarsII

It's done.:peaceful: Here's the result, two Asus MarsII cards with removed IHSs.:P:triumphant:

The first time I did this, the process went smoothly. The heating of the IHSs using a hot air gun, has delivered great benefits.:glee:

  12. Update 02.04.2013

All pictures and video updated to the latest version. :P

Older pictures are still available on the SkyDrive folder.

The Monsoon Fittings, which I'll use, are now designed almost faithfully, to reveal the final look better and to identify compatibility issues.:excitement:

I have cleaned the file of unnecessary steps, so that changes can be implemented more quickly.

  13. Update 28.03.2013:

Pictures updated to the latest version and added a sketch with dimensions in millimeters.:Banane37:

To get a better idea of how the water cooler will look like in the end, I added all required screws with approximate dimension entities.

First I wanted to use this M4 screws.

    post-1291-1449499487518_thumb.jpg

When I saw the rendered results, I thought I must have been taken leave of his thoughts at the time of purchase. It just looks crappy. :mask:

So I went to a local craft store and ordered smaller black M3 screws.:D

In the same step I have raised the height of the cover to 5mm to hide the new M3 screws completely. The new results look better many times.:P

  14. I watched just a part of the video. The graphics overall look pretty good, weapon models are still not convincing. It looks to be a further improved Frostbite2 engine, hopefully this time with the long-awaited 64bit support. It is of course a fine move of the marketing machine of EA to name the engine Frostbite3 so most users think of something totally new.

Like every year Battlefield, Call of Duty and Assassins Creed will find their way to my Origin, Steam and Uplay library...:anonymous:

  15. @Khenglish: The watercooler has the following dimensions: 263mm x 134mm x 14mm with TwinConnectConnector included and 263mm x 116mm x 14mm without.

The copper base is 1.5mmm above both GPUs and the fins are 4.5mm high and 1mm thick and have a distance of 1.5mm to each other.

I'm going to form an opinion over Easter, regarding the idea of removing the heat spreader.;)

btw we are not talking about double-digit amounts

  16. That is absolutely better. I think my 580 GPU block had over 30 fins.

Yeah, I know, the waterblocks from AquaComputer have an insane amount of copper fins.:P In a custom-made, this has an influence on the production costs, so I have to keep an eye on the value for money.;)

  17. @Khenglish: No, I haven't run temperature simulation, it's pretty hard to choose the correct values in the correct places to get nearly accurate data.

I will not remove the IHS, the watercooler is adapted to the height of the two IHS.

Do you think that a copper fin design, as in the picture below, will improve the cooling a lot?

    post-1291-14494994628157_thumb.jpg

    (Fullsize on SkyDrive folder)

@Brian: I can't tell it at the moment, I expect a few more quotes from different companies.
