  1. these are some benchmarks for my 920xm I posted in a M17X i7 processors thread in NBR, might as well post it here since this is a benchmark thread :

tests using my 920xm with TS and a no factory o'c (bus speed is default), and here are some of my benches:

(Cinebenchmark 10.5 & 11 , 32&64bit), superpi, wprime, 3dmark vantage, just so you can compare with the benches at notebookcheck:

    Intel Core i7 2920XM Notebook Processor - Notebookcheck.net Tech

    Cinebench R10: Rendering Single&Multiple 32Bit :

    Cinebench R10: Rendering Single&Multiple 64Bit :

    Cinebench R11.5: Rendering Single&Multiple 32&64Bit :

    Super Pi 1,2,32M: http://img535.imageshack.us/i/superpix.png/

    wprime 32&1024M: http://img576.imageshack.us/i/1024mx25and32.png/

    3DMark Vantage: P CPU no PhysX 1280x1024

now although I am comparing an unlocked 920xm vs. stock 2920, please note that these scores were achieved without any o'cing to the bus speed, many users out there who are looking to get the best out of there cpus have even way better scores such as this:

  2. Comparison between Joebarchuck's "960" shaders 6970m with (780/1000)clocks: Imageshack - 100mhz.png

    and ichime's "1120" shaders 6970m with (775/1000)clocks: Result

you can clearly see a difference of ~1400 points in GPU score...

    also for higher clocks:

    "960" shaders 6970m with (830/1075) clocks:Result

    ichime's "1120" shaders 6970m with (825/1075) clocks: http://img38.imageshack.us/f/6970mm17xr2vantagegpu82.jpg/

Graphics Score of 14788 for the unlocked vs. Graphics Score of 13407.51 for the regular one(slighter higher clocks)

  3. DR, if you fried anything in your motherboard, you would know instantly because your lappy would be completely dead..no lights, LED or any kind of booting..

I was just saying that the hardware malfunction bsod you were getting is just similar to the 124, which means u don't have enough juice for your current clocks..

and regarding degradation of the cpus.. I don't think we have to worry about this for the next five years at least...

  4. I don't think you killed your cpu, these things are real beasts..if anything, I think you might have fried something in your motherboard like I did two weeks ago when setting TDP/TDC to 120W/110A and two voltage stepping of 150mV, also with 5% factory o'c and 27x multipliers..it was generating too much heat and it's really not practical for benching purposes so basically i fried it for nothing..

anyways, it was replaced and all is good now, and regarding your cpu, i think you should just decrease the bus speed to maybe 136MHz
