  1. I will want to try a03 w/ updated orom as well. To make sure I am ready for anything, blind flash goes this way: batter out, power cord out, a usb stick with "M18R2.HDR" (renamed *.fd) into the e-sata port, [END] pressed and held, power cord in, [END] released, *beeps*, done?
  2. I am going to give the 850 version a spin as well this week. Just need a free afternoon to do that slowly without rushing. What is the expected difference 850+889 regular vs 850+889 OV? I'll start with the regular version.
  3. Well, for R2 a DOS version can be downloaded directly from Dell: Dell Dell Alienware M18x R2 System BIOS, A03 For R1, I'd like to know this too. Prolly some recent version of flashit for insyde.
  4. R2: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_282A&SUBSYS_05501028&REV_04 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_282A&SUBSYS_05501028 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_282A&CC_010400 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_282A&CC_0104 ...so device ID is not an issue. According to a piece of info in this article/compendium, all mobile onboard Intel controllers have the same ID and will work with orom of any version. sv7, follow the link above. You can find oroms of all major revisions there, including final 1582.
  5. According to info here (there's an extracted orom as well), 11.5.0.1582 is the final version for 11.5 series. Maybe using the latest one would make a difference? If it worked for that guy on older P55 (and further confirmed Z68), why wouldn't it work on HM67?
  6. Yes, updated rst orom would be great. Intel pulled rst 11.5.x due to the memory leaks so maybe it would be worth waiting for a new release. Along the windows drivers they may also release an updated orom which would hence be the most up to date.
  7. Excellent job. Can you tell me by how much the 'OV' bioses increase voltage?
  8. M17x R4 owners: What are the stock boost clocks for Dell 680M in M17x R4? Stock core is 720. How high is it being 'boosted' by the boost function?
  9. I am PMing you now at NBR since here I can't do it for now. BTW, what is the deal with the 'boot' function? how faster is it supposed to make the stock clocks by default (in other words, what is the relative ratio core clocks vs boost clocks at any frequency)?
  10. I noticed a 680m thread over at mvktech but I assumed that it was still in early development. Thanks. I am sending a PM now. BTW, what's the deal with the 'boost' function? How much faster is it supposed to make the stock clocks?
  11. This is an awesome thread. It actually made me join. Hello there o/ So what is the current state of affairs for Dell 680M 2GB cards? As I understand: the +100Mhz vbios from the first post should work fine yielding 819Mhz core and 858Mhz boost clock MSI/Clevo bioses will not work = Dell cards run only Dell VBIOSes with the "+100Mhz" vbios any higher OC has not been successful so far -> the "erratic" changes of the gpu core-clock occur if attempted
