  1. Thanks for the advice. I have already put an order in for a new card, all going well that will fix it. The restarts have been getting more common, now without much encouragement, the computer will just restart, so it does seem like the card is dying... or at least I assume so. Shall let you know how it goes. Regards, Jah
  2. Hmm, after removing the battery, it seemed to run fine for an evening. But then just last night it crashed again、this is driving me mad. You think that it is the video card chips? So I should get a new card?
  3. I was thinking of buying a better power supply, to test that... but I can't find anywhere? It is possible that it being 2am in Japan and not having slept well last night is affecting me, but does anyone know of a good shop for MSI power supplies? eBay seller? Is it even worth trying?
  4. Agreed though, it isn't just heat. I'm hoping it isn't a problem with the card, but it seems perhaps a power supply issue, since, when more power is demanded, the computer restarts?
  5. If they were damaged, surely it wouldn't happen so regularly on stress?
  6. Actually, you might be onto something. I just tried running the game on the lowest graphic setting, and my computer restarted even though both my GPU and CPU were at quite a low temperature, how does one fix this?
  7. Thanks for your thoughts, it could possibly be that, but I doubt it. Reason: The times when I had applied thermal paste poorly, or too much, my laptop restarted soon after starting Wildstar, and times it was applied well, it didn't restart for a little while. Also, monitoring my video card temperature during this time, showed it failed at 75 degrees. Anyone?
  8. Thanks, that's exactly what I did, but now... It's overheating. In my MSI GT780DXR I've recently installed a Dell GTX580m. Flashed the vBios to MSI and installed the drivers fine. Bought some quality thermal paste, applied it correctly (after lots of research and reapplications). However, when playing the latest game I have (Wildstar), the card heads toward 75 degrees celcius then reboots the computer. After experimenting with various thermal paste applications, it can stay under for a couple of minutes with the fan at full, but always restarts. My previous video card died playing this game... Thoughts or theories, anyone? Regards, Jah
  9. Good Evening All, I have an MSI GT780DXR and just put a Dell GTX580M card in it... After doing the .inf edit found here: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/496570/geforce-drivers/can-39-t-install-nvidia-graphics-driver-v-275-33/3/ With the current drivers, 337.88, I get past the 'checking' phase, it recognises and starts to install... then I get this error (mid install): imgur: the simple image sharer Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Jah
