  1. For Windows 8.1 try this: https://www.techinferno.com/index.php?/forums/topic/6727-guide-macbook-enabling-optimus-internal-lcd-mode/ Or try Windows 10
  2. @Fred5612 If you are not in a hurry… wait! TB3 eGPUs are going to be released soon, like the Razer Stealth with it's Razer Core:
  3. Currently nobody made it work in Windows… MacVideoCards claims he did, but is falling short to really prove it since multiple month now.
  4. You can try I never tried… In Windows you can Hibernate with the eGPU, though… @iddinmx You are not sure what No3 is? Than disable it What was your PSU again? Are you overlocking the GPU oder undervolting sth (GPU or CPU)?
  5. First guess would be a power issue. What PSU are you using? What are you Afterburner settings? Did you increase the power limit a lot?
  6. Try this to disable the internal: https://github.com/Eun/DisableMonitor
  7. Kind of... take a look at the first page of this thread and make sure that the 3 yellow pins of your 6-Pin adapter match the 3x 12V pins of the DA-2. Also be aware that the shape of the Pins will not match the shape of some "holes". So you will need some force to get them together or cut the pins into the right shape.
  8. @mmomega: 4k seems to be the highest possible resolution in Windows: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6604929?tstart=0 Would be really interessting if you have eGPU performance on the internal monitor!!!
  9. Let me take a look at my magic crystal sphere to predict the future...
  10. You shouldn't power the AKiTiO with it's stock PSU! Never ever if a GPU is in it. Get one of the follwing two cables: - 2xMolex to 1x6-Pin PCIe or - 8-Pin EPS ATX mainboard extension Cut of the 6-Pin PCIe or the 8-Pin EPS male side and connect black/yellow to a barrel plug. Make this your tonights bedtime story: https://www.techinferno.com/index.php?/forums/topic/6543-guide-making-a-molex-to-barrel-adapter/
  11. Any display that can connect to the eGPU! If you can find a GPU with mini Display Ports?!
  12. What power cord did you connect to the AKiTiO? Please do this boot order whenever you boot into Windows: - turn on MB - press and hold Alt Key - wait for boot chime and boot selection menu - wait for the WiFi search to finish - turn on the eGPU - wait 2-3sec - boot into Windows
  13. The cube is quite big (imho)
  14. Can't find it... sorry. But I am not very optimistic it would work with your 750m in your system.
  15. I helped someone in the past to make it work. Because the monitor is not conencted to the eGPU it will work like an additional Optimus monitor (so performance will decrease). But because of Optimus, the MacBook can't have an dGPU like you have. I will and find that post later.
  16. That is true. Unfortunately the case is not released yet.
  17. Hi, Please keep in mind that if you do not want to make cuts into the case, you will have to use a riser cable to extend the PCIe slot. The 2 cases you linked have the "problem" that you will HAVE TO use 90° solid PCB riser besides the riser cable (or you get a riser cable with a 90° angled slot). Some cases that only need a cable riser are the slim Silverstone cases, like the RVZ01 (keep in mind that this slim cases need smaller PSUs in the SFX or SFX-l size). You don't need a 600W PSU since you will only power the eGPU and not a whole PC system. So 500W should be enough (with the correct amount of PCIe power plugs for the GPU).
  18. I bought a whole Dell PC that came with the Dell DA-2 and reused the matching plug for the Dell DA-2 from that PC. I made a cut at the lower back of the AKiTiO:
  19. @djmcgreal Seems good to me. The switch should close the circuit if "on" and open the circuit if "off" (AFAIK). So I don't think that soft switches which only give a short contact are enough.
