I am finding lots of fluctuation in clock speeds from 500-860 whilst gaming and trying out your MSI BIOS does it keep it at a higher clock rate?

Yes I can confirm worked flawlessly with the stable release too. It's a pity we have to do this still confused why the drivers don't work out of the box.

How do i stop the core speed fluctuating?

770M @ 706(797 BOOST)/1002MHZ 3Dmark Vantage Score P15583 Graphics Score 17735 CPU Score 11424 Cloud gate: 770: 10328 8970m: 10626 Fire Strike: 770: 3223 8970m: 3866 Ice Storm: 770: 67521 8970m: 64393 The game i play mostly is mechwarrior online which is based on cryengine the 770m seems to be doing very well and is smooth better than the 8970m for keeping up min and avg fps but cryengine is like that with the green team anyways. Also the fans were not that bothered GPU-Z did see 867mhz after a go of kombuster and i used the 240m backplate. I also go the card on an eBay auction as a new pul for $167 inc postage so not too bad. Returned my 8970m which was about 400.

Cheers this worked! Will this work with all drivers and is it replacing a different 770m? I am also wondering why this device ID is not on nvidias inf or dell's for that matter? Also what device did DELL ship this vga with as i presume they have a driver for it?

I used one form a 6970m which i had modified to use with m15x.

My temps are really good i used a modified 6970m bracket which was a really nice fit. The 2GB is used in an MSI laptop as far as I know. HIDevolution MSI GX60 3BE-240US AMD A10-5750 2GB AMD 8970M 15.6" I have got a Dell 770m for €129 posted on eBay gonna see how it goes.

Cheers! Also even though it's 2gb will it show as 4gb can they be modded to show 2gb if so? Can the original BIOS be tweaked to work? Does the 240w adapter help? (using 740qm) sidenote: using some clevo bios's fan was set but was regulating the temps fine and temps were pretty low. I also have to modfy the amd bracket to fit. Will update when dne tomorrow. Hi what BIOS did you use? I bought the MSI based on this thread and i have less performance than a 240m as I am stuck at 300mhz, it is ok after restart but eventually goes to 300mhz.

I was going to purchase setfsb but I don't like the way the paypal thing has no log in just credit card details. I have Intel Core i7 740QM @ 1.73GHz I play mwo so it's CPU intensive needed to get cpu a bit higher. Any guides for Throttlestop?

Hi guys! I had upgraded my M15X's 460m to a 6970m only to have issues when stressed (blank screen, lines, distortion, etc) so I took out the aluminim foil carefully wrapped it up leaving gpu exposed and did a reflow with a heat gun. So far so good has passed every benchmark multiple times and done a few sessions of furmark and kombuster and temps are normal. My 3d mark 06 scores were a few hundred off what they were but similar and my vantage scores seemed good so I flashed it with a 6990m 790/1000 bios and goT decent scores imo. Just wondering have any of you successfully reflowed your 6970/6990m's and what scores have you got. 3DMark 11 P3938 (+ 492) 3DMark Vantage P12749 (+ 768) 3DMark06 14360 (+ 629)
