1. Thanks! Hopefully the rest of the review will be up soon I was told that the model I am planning to buy has a G-Sync compatible LCD screen, however in the review it is said that it is not G-Sync compatible. Did Eurocom just send a model with a default laptop screen or I was misinformed and this laptop is not available with G-Sync screen (I was told that the one I am planning to buy has 60 Hz refresh rate, but ut is G-Sync compatible) ?
2. Hey all! I am planning to buy a Clevo laptop with desktop GTX 980, however I can not decide between this one or the Phoenix. Are there any significant differences between these two? Is the GTX 980 in this one has lower clock compared to the one in the Phoenix ? Yes, I know the chassis and cooling is different, but can this laptop still keep a 6700k and GTX 980 under throttle level ? I have checked out the Notebookcheck test of this laptop and according to that test Furmark was only able to run for a few minutes before a complete thermal shutdown. Is the cooling really this bad ? The review in question: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Eurocom-Sky-DLX7-Clevo-P775DM1-Notebook-Review.155423.0.html What are the cpu and gpu temps under games with high GPU+CPU usage ? (Like the new Tomb Raider?) Will the GPU temp be this high even if I set the fans in the Clevo software to run high ? I am planning to use 1 single GTX 980 with no future plans to upgrade to SLI. Is Batman 2.0 enough for me or Phoenix is suggested because of the better cooling ? Phoenix costs $500 more here, is the better cooling worth this price ? ps. :What are the base+boost clocks during gaming ?
3. GTX980M 4GB unlocked vBIOS: ASUSGTX9804GMOD.zip WARNING! Only for 4GB variant of GTX980M in the ASUS G751JY laptop!
4. Hey guys, thanks for the hard work! Any news about the release date of the modded vBIOS for the GTX980M 4GB variant in the ASUS G751JY ?
5. I just wanted to give it a try to see if it works correctly with other 4GB GTX880M, but seems I was wrong. I am currently back on stock vBIOS, so could please someone modify the vBIOS I have linked ?
6. Hi! I have an ASUS G750JZ with GTX880M 4GB GDDR5 and I have tried the MSI 880M 4G vBIOS mentioned in another thread. There was a PCI missmatch according to NVflash, but I have overwritten it. The problem is that even thou the card comes online, the memory clock will not go above 405 Mhz during load, so this vBIOS does not work correctly with the ASUS GTX880M 4GB. My question is: Could someone please unlock/remove limitations/remove throttle, etc from the vBIOS of the Asus GTX880M 4GB ? I will attach the latest vBIOS to this post. Thank you! ASUS880M4G.zip
7. Hi! I have an ASUS G750JZ with GTX880M 4GB GDDR5 and I have tried the above mentioned MSI 880M modified vBIOS, since it was reported to work with the 4GB variant of 880M. There was a PCI missmatch according to NVflash, but I have overwritten it. The problem is that even thou the card comes online, the memory clock will not go above 405 Mhz during load, so this vBIOS does not work correctly with the ASUS GTX880M 4GB. 8. Hi! Would you please release an optimized vBIOS for the 4 GB variant of GTX880M? Here is a vBIOS from an ASUS G750JZ with GTX880M 4GB GDDR5: Thank you!
9. Hi! Would you please release an optimized vBIOS for the 4 GB variant of GTX880M? Here is a vBIOS from an ASUS G750JZ with GTX880M 4GB GDDR5: ASUSGTX880M4GB_new.zip Thank you!
10. Sure, only need to take off the keyboard to access the cmos battery.
11. oh, I see. Just need a way to make it accessible...
12. How did you manage to access the option to turn it off? After you turn of igpu, the screen will go and stay black no mather what? If yes, than that means that in the JZ only the igpu has connection to the monitor, so by design, it is not possible to turn off optimus, like in other laptops ...
13. As title says, could someone with the neccasary knowledge try to unlock the latest G750JZ BIOS please? The main thing all JZ owners would like to see if it would be possible to unlock the option in the BIOS which allows the Intel iGPU to be disabled so the built in GTX 880M could be used as the primary display adapter. The reason for this is that this laptop has poor quality screen which requires the refresh rate to be manually increased. Previous G750 owners can do this, however for JZ owners it is not possible while Optimus is enabled, because the required option is not present in the NVidia Control Panel while the Intel iGPU is enabled ... Thank you in advance in the name of all JZ owners! I attach the latest JZ BIOS packed in zip. G750JZAS207.zip
14. Have you bought the 170 W AC adapter too or are you trying to use the Ultrabay VGA with the default 120 W AC adapter ?
15. Did something happen to svl7? He does not comment here about 755M and 750m vbios mod and does not answer private messages or mails ...
16. I have tried to undervolt the vBIOS since svl7 is not responding, but no luck...I've changed values of the vBIOS in a hex editor, but no luck, the 1,118 V for Ultrabay VGA won't change according to GPU-Z ...
17. It's been a week now since the last update regarding unlocked bios 207 and undervolted built-in vBIOS+ultrabay vBIOS...
18. Yea, any update on the unlocked bios+undervolted built-in vBIOS/ultrabay vBIOS?
19. A different vbios is loaded? That answers the question of why does the intel gpu get disabled if ultrabay card is present. Btw any update regarding the bios unlock + vbios undervolts? - - - Updated - - - Ye, that is total bull... I am lucky, because I have 3.05, but I cant even imagine what new features and fixes were applied compared to 1.xx and it is not public to download...
20. OK, I've played Witcher 2 with 755M SLI enabled. Max VDCC according to GPU-Z: Main VGA: 1,1370 V Ultrabay VGA: 1,1180 V According to HWMonitor: Main VGA: 0,875 V Ultrabay VGA: 0,868 V
21. Nice! Please don't forget the ultrabay vBIOS, because the built-in GPU runs on 75-80C, but the ultrabay is 95-98C, so the 2nd VGA is the one that really needs undervolt. Why not just mod the vBIOS that I've linked? I've tested that one and it is not flickering. http://forum.techinferno.com/general-notebook-discussions/1847-nvidia-kepler-vbios-mods-overclocking-editions-modified-clocks-voltage-tweaks-318.html#post78489 Built in vBIOS: 80.07.A8.00.2E Ultrabay vBIOS: 80.07.A8.00.32 (P044n-b751) about bios: I currently have BIOS 3.05 and ec 2.07.
22. Great, thanks svl7! Are you lowering both GPU voltage or just ultrabay (or just main gpu?) ? btw which vBIOS are you working with ? Just asking because I've tried the "2nd VGA bios for 755M" from Lenovo's website with 2x y510p and it caused screen flickering with both. No problem with the factory vBIOS (which already has the Win 8.1 fix by default) that I've linked.
23. According to GPU-Z under load the max VDCC is 1.1250 V for my 755M too (at least the ultrabay card).
24. svl7 ! I have a Lenovo Idepad y510p with SLI 755M and as many others I have a problem with the Ultrabay VGA. The problem is simple, it overheats, really fast. There are 2 things that cause this: a) voltage is too high for the Ultrabay VGA Ultrabay fan does not operate on maximum RPM (only when dust removal is used in the Lenovo software) My question: Could you please try to unclock voltage control in the vBIOS or lower yourself the voltage by 60-70mV (or more if tests allow it)? Fan control is locked by default (not available even in your unlocked BIOS since I believe EC mod would be required for that) and voltage control is locked in the vBIOS. I attach my default vBIOS (it allows SLI to be enabled in Windows 8.1) of the 2nd VGA (ultrabay VGA). The reason why I not attached the vBIOS from Lenovo's site is because that vBIOS made 2 of my y510p flicker in games (about every 10-15 minutes the screen flickered once), but my factory default vBIOS does not flicker and already fixes the SLI issue. Thank you svl7 and Happy New Year to everyone ! y510p755MSLI_Win8.1_factory_defult.rom.txt
