john or svl7 i tested something. On every Alienware with 120HZ display 3D: With vbios mod on battery = crash and freeze within 5 seconds display turn off and on and 3 second later it shutdown. With stock vbios on battery = everything ok tested with same driver.

your score is good nothing wrong with that. Did tried what i said? make a new windows user account and install 3dmark 11 try there. what exactly is your problem because ur score is ok. u wont get anything by spamming this forum everyone is trying to help you here already so just do what i said because this doesnt seem to be windows or driver related issues more likely ur GPU is bad you understand? some GPU's are bad.. what are ur temps while 3dmark11 or firestrike? u can find out with hwinfo let it run while u bench

the TDP what exactly is that doing if i let it 100% or 160% it gives more power to the gpu? i mean is it worth playing around with that if i am not able to hit 1100 core with the 880m? my 880m needs +62mv to run +100 core lol... i really dont know if that is normal.. but once i go up to like +100mv my 3dmark flickers its like lagging for 1-2 seconds my memory is able to hit +1000 stable... but i run +900 in watchdogs gives me 9 fps more and temps are not going above 85-86

uhm i get 3dmark crash when my temps are 2 high... can you please go play games and check the temperature? you wont crash in games it will just trottle.. can you update ur system info from 3d mark? also try to make a new windows account and install 3dmark and system info clean and try. always check ur temps... mine are not going above 85c while benchmarking

anyone tried to use the battery without AC on a AW 17 with 3D Display 120HZ ? for me its crashing with battery only and ask me to use iGPU which i dont have.

thats a crazy OC...i am not able to do anything with AW 17.. running at 1050/7000 gives me 6.8k firestrike and 10k 3dmark 11 thats with a 880M...my 780M can reach 1150... and is faster than 880m

even without OC...its just crashing if i use the battery only...its freezing and asking me to use iGPU which is disabled cause of my 120HZ display. I havent tested more so far try urself..u can always flash the original vbios back.

i am yes everything works fine except that i am not able to run without PSU...its crashing

can u run a 3dmark 11 +500 memory and post ur screen.

I dont want to flame here but what u said makes no sense cause its not my question why am i able to get +1000Mhz on this 880m while others crash at 500+. Both overclocked with inspector. Do u even own a 880M to test before u talk? thats what i want to know. Since we both use inspector for overclocking right? we should see the same results on gpu can u check your memory chips names? ill do it aswell. You got clevo 880M im sure its 8GB aswell.

yep so the overclock is +1000 as the pictures shows 6998 MHZ memory whatever do u know if its normal that it can clock that high? it doesnt work on my friends clevo gives crash and one guy on forum said that aswell

i am not confused i told you +1000 is my memory overclock and you see the picture thats it. QDR is what u are talking about and i know that if i overclock 100MHZ on inspector it shows 50mhz on GpuZ. What i said was that i overclocked the memory to +1000 on inspector. My friend who has the same card is not able to go above +540 on inspector so thats what i am saying maybe i got different memory chips? asked 2-3 people with the same 880m on clevo and they cant go that high. My friend with the same cpu and gpu get around 400 point less on 3dmark with + 540 Memory while i got +1000 i cant explain that.

yo, once more i dont have +500mhz with 500 my score is like 400 points less.. ....i understand what u say its quadD but those scores are not able with only +500... this is +900/1000 memory which unigine heaven shows as 3500 in benchmark. i dont know why 3D mark doesnt but i am able to overclock the memory to +1000 stable. All i am telling you is that i just overclocked the memory on inspector to +900 / 1000 and its stable. this score is with +900Mhz around i overclocked on inspector memory +/- 900/1000 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 880M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i3/i5/i7 4xxx,Alienware 04WT2G above 1000 is not stable. my 780M gtx could go max to like 550 because of the 4GB... i expected the 880M with 8GB better memory to 1000 so yea...its giving a boost of 700 points on 3d mark and in games around 7 FPS more. Funny is that the card is not running hotter... i believe its because i am not able to stress the full 8GB ... Please everyone with a 880M GTX do not up ur core clock that much it makes the card trottle even more... try to up the memory its overclocking like crazy and games gain more performance

no its + 900MHZ on inspector... its 2x 1750 u need to count 1250 + 1250 = 2500 1750 + 1750 = 3500 -/+ 1000Mhz u forgot its a 8GB not a 4GB I am able to get +1000 memory stable but once i touch the core over +25mv its done.... well i get 10k score on 3D Mark 11 with a single card thats good without overclocking gpu core that much.

yo guys i dont know why but my 880m memory is just epic...i can overclock it stable to +1000 lol... gives me about 9500 score in 3d mark 11 without touching GPU clock... 993/3500 this is 3dmark 11 and 3dmark score NVIDIA GeForce GTX 880M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i3/i5/i7 4xxx,Alienware 04WT2G NVIDIA GeForce GTX 880M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i3/i5/i7 4xxx,Alienware 04WT2G Temps are low 80 highest while 3dmark.

i used as5 and mr fox told me about liquid ultra... all i can tell you is it gave me -9 c° on cpu and gpu around. Ive tested it on 2x AW 17 and both running now better and overclocking higher... my 4910mq is running 4.1GHZ on all 4xcores with max temp of 81c before it was 89-90. GPU from from 87 to 79.

will the 330W help the AW 17 to overclock or are there mobo limits? cause there is no point then

The new Alienware 17 is limited on power ive got a 240W and mr fox suggest me to get a 330W will that help ? i mean the mobo has the limit, but even tho i run my 4910m @ 1.155v i am not able to overclock the card stable its flickerin at +100mv and shutdown after 5-10 seconds.. and restarts... i am really confused. If someone can link me to a 330W for the new 17 or if it fits from the 18 cause i couldnt find on ebay :x its only from the old model 18xR something

yea try that, i am not going to flash the dumped vbios from gpu z until svl7 confirm it. I am pretty sure the issue is because of my 120Hz display. this is my score right now. so even if my cpu run at 1.155 static voltage it doesnt help to up the gpu voltage? lol... btw i just got a problem when i plugout my PSU and start the laptop it crashes in windows and asking me to change to my iGPU which i dont have due to 120HZ Display...and after 5 sec and some flickers to black screeen it just freeze... i can see the mouse only but nothing works.. i shutdown and put the psu and all work again. i save the original bios with gpu z am i able to flash it back or will that brick the card 3D Mark 11 score http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/8395449 3D MARK score http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/3193413

well...on +100mv the screen on 3dmark flickers and stutter... on +50mv its fine... maybe cause of my 120Hz Display.. i wasnt able to get higher than 1050 stable... if i do 1100 i need +75mv and its crashing also but sometimes on 3d mark my gpu score is 9700 but my cpu score drop from 10400 to like 8000 lol..i believe thats something with the power options... cause if i dont overclock the 880 my cpu stay 4 GHZ on all 4x cores all time. I am not sure if my psu is the problem because i run the 4910mq @ 1.155mv stable 4 GHZ

how would i be able to run it without OC? i mean the normal dell overclock is 4,1 Ghz on 1 core but the voltage is like 1,240.. which is 2 high i put on xtu 1,155v static and run 4x 4Ghz all day long stable... so i got even lower voltage i really dont know :x i just google a bit and saw that if it was my psu not being able it would shutdown...which is not the case...

Overclocking is not able on the 880M from dell actually sometimes it works on 3dmark 11 i can get around 10k score with but it crashes on other benchmarks i tried to up the core +100 with +25mv didnt work but +50mv worked after like 2-3 runs it crashed...ive got a 240W psu and my cpu is 4910mq i run at 4GHZ on all 4 Cores i dont know if i am power limited =/. What about the option Power target from 100% to 160% do i need that? i turn it up to 160% but still crash. I can up the memory to +500 tho. Temps are 80-85 while benchmark

ALienware 17 4910mq overclocked from dell to 4,1 Ghz Need help after i overclocked with xtu to 4,1GHZ on all 4xcores on XTU stable i went in the bios and saw that i had the Overclocking disabled, so i turn it on and just turn the OC level1 to Disable but left the overclock options open After that i got no Post and no way to reset the bios. I read forums and came into the idea to swap the 4910mq to my older 4700... after doing so it worked once i put the 4910mq back but now my XTU is bugged it shows max non turbo to x24 which is 2,4 GHZ and not x29 for 2,9 GHz i deleted it and reinstalled but nothing changed i even flashed the new bios again nothing...XTU and even my scores are now super low. and if i change the Max non turbo from x24 to x29 after reboot it says XTU couldnt apply the x29....what is that?
