  1. yup. but I found the problem. somehow the n6205 doesnt work with y510p because n2230 and ac7260 works fine. only n6205 doesnt work on y510!!!!
  2. I would like to ask one more question. I've created backup file from step1. The name is bios.bin How do I run this file to get my old bios back? Thanks you Dont have to answer this I found how ro do it. Thanks!
  3. Guys I am having big trouble here. Ok so I unlocked whitelist from bios and installed intel n6205 which has dual band support. I believe (I cannot remember clearly but) I tried 2.4ghz and 5ghz connection with my router and worked perfectly. However, I just reinstalled my windows 7 64bit yesterday and I cannot connect to 2.4ghz!!!! I can only connect to 5ghz!!! I mean seems like the wifi card finds 2.4ghz signal well beacuse I see it on my wifi list but when I type in the password and click connect, it says it cannot connect to wifi!!!! All other desktop, laptops and smart phones work ok worh same router. And even I changed it back to original which was intel n2230 and it worked too?! Please help me out here!! I have to use this laptop at school and froends house too!! I cant just use 5ghz!!! Please!!!
  4. I have no idea. I just used a program that contains every wireless card drivers in. I am outside so I cant even check the name. But why? Do you think I have to change or upgrade the driver? - - - Updated - - - http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=27_1048_1050&item_id=062806 Is this the intel ac7260? Why does it say ac1200?? Anyone know?
  5. Mine is y510p and version is v1.09. After I unlocked my bios I installed BCM943228HMB but seems like this is worse than n2230. I guess intel ac7260 is the best way.
  6. Hi there. I actually got stuck in the first step which is this "Create a backup of your own BIOS by using this tool. The archive contains the files of the program and a .bat file that will create a backup of your BIOS. You need to call the .bat file from an admin command prompt." I have no idea how I can run the .bat file. please help me~ -------------------------------------------------------------------- I think I found how to do it. Please let me know if this is right or not. I put all Fptw64 folders' files into c\windows\system32 and run cmd by admin and typed "start backup.bat" and it seems like backing up my bios. and it says writing flash contents to file "bios.bin"... does this mean my bios backup has been saved in bios.bin file? I dragged this file to bio-fixer program and nothing happened!!!!!!!!!! its just saying "Input file: bios.bin" thats it!!!! what should I do?????? --------------------------------------------------------------------- wow solved it again. first, I had to pull out bios.bin file to desktop from system32 file. it worked!!!!!!
  7. I am using lenovo y510p right now. It costs me about $1075 include tax. so far I think this is the best laptop compare to the price. It has i7 4700mq, 8gb ram, 1tb +24ssd, gt750m, 1920x71080 HD resolution and can upgrade to SLI. The only crappy part is the wirless card, but you can upgrade it once if you unlock the bios.
