problem solved.. all I needed to do is to press the hot key (fn+F5) to switch graphic cards.. it didn't work before because the on-screen display driver was not installed.

Hello there, I just got my Alienware 17 with 3D Display... the sad thing is that I can't use the 3D Nvidia vision thanks to the Optimus Technology it got me stuck on the Intel HD graphic card instead of Nvidia.. I read in a lot of sites (including this one) that I need to unlock the bios in order to disable the Optimus Technology.. now here is the problem : it seems that every single Alienware laptop in the whole wide world has an unlocked bios except for mine... what is this means?? can you please get me an unlocked bios for Alienware 17 if there isn't , is there another solution to my problem??

LOL and I spent the whold day trying to get rid of optimus. for me optimus is a nightmare . I can't use my 3d vision because of it
