  1. Hey rune

I'm also having trouble booting; same symptoms as you described in post 228 (if i remember correctly).

    My specs are :

    Y510p with dual 755M, bios 2.04

Couldn't drag and drop my backup bios onto the bios patcher when running it as administrator, so ran it default.

Could you tell me the exact step's of your modding procedure ?

    best regards

    Of course i can :)

I took my old backupbios the one I used for the first modded bios.

I used my dropbox and took my girlsfriend windows 7 laptop and made the modded bios.

back on my own computer i took the files into a folder C:\bios\.

Open cmd as administrator. C:\windows\system32\ right click run as administrator.

    typed CD C:\bios\

copy pasted fptw64 -f v2xxMod.bin -bios and executed.

    and exit.

It is still working today just tried.

  2. OK here we go:

    Configuration Tab:

    USB Legacy - Enabled

    Wireless - Enabled

    SATA Controller Mode - AHCI

    Power Beep - Disabled

    Always On USB - Disabled

    Intel Virtual Technology - Enabled

    BIOS Back Flash - Disabled

    Deep S3 Function - Disabled

    Boot Tab:

    Boot Mode - Legacy Support

    Boot Priority - Legacy First

    USB Boot - Enabled

    Exit Tab

OS Optimised Defaults - Other OS

That should be every configurable option covered with the limited BIOS. Hope this helps :)

Well i can see you are not running windows 8.1 then. so unfortunately not really

Did try your settings, but they didn't helped wondering if i should try to reflash the bios.

    Good News Everyone.

I remade my modded bios from the same bios backup and flashed it did 10 restarts now and everything seems working. :)

  3. For those of you wanting mods for the recent vBIOS updates, I submitted a new vBIOS mod request to svl7 here: http://forum.techinferno.com/general-notebook-discussions/4635-bios-vbios-modification-request-thread-svl7-6.html#post72163

Feel free to test it out and provide feedback once the mods are released. I can't really test it out myself since I'm still on Windows 8 and won't be updating to 8.1.

Why wouldn't you update since lenovo have fixed the vbios to support sli now?

  4. Yes, saw the thread on forums.lenovo.com, was just about to let people know but you took the lead rune-d :) Well done.

People who will go with the official way please let us know if it is the same vBios as the leaked one.

I haven't downloaded the files from Lenovo.

Well i didn't try the leaked one because i have the gt755m, the only diffrent in the version number was 2f vs 32 on lenovo's new version.

  5. Finally offical of lenovo.

Attention: Do not power off or restart your computer during the VBIOS flashing process, which will cause serious damage and improper functioning of your computer.

Print this file so that you can refer to it during the installation.

Anything related to the new vbios, please open a new thread for discussion so we can track the discussion easier.

Thank you for your time and support!! 16x16_smiley-happy.gif

  6. I have no idea. I just used a program that contains every wireless card drivers in. I am outside so I cant even check the name. But why? Do you think I have to change or upgrade the driver?

Is this the intel ac7260? Why does it say ac1200?? Anyone know?

I think it's the link speed they want to tell about :)

  7. We got answer from lenovo, in official forum:

    All,

I appreciate the frustration, and I know you have been working on this since September. That said, we couldn't escalate issues to engineering until Windows 8.1 became official. We passed that gate on the 17th, so it is fair game now.

I saw your tweets, and also note that this thread has gone from 1 to 8 pages, driven by some very motivated folks. Please keep in mind that the forum is primarily peer to peer, and as you scan other boards, there are plenty of threads demanding Lenovo attention, so you aren't being deliberately ignored .

I acknowledge your concerns and we'll try to help you get this solved. It may be that development teams already know about this - I'll need to look into it to see what is already in progress. We can open a new case based on this discussion.

I think one of the recent comments urging a recap of the situation is helpful.

We need to focus on how the Lenovo provided drivers don't work, and the symptoms - the 2nd card isn't recognized at all, doesn't work in games, produces blurry graphics etc. If you want to reference Nvidia OEM versions, that's great, but we can't focus the case on them since we support our versions.

    I appreciate your help.

    Thanks

    Mark

So alot of bulshit again, first Lenovo i have ever bought (y510p, gt755m sli), but i am starting to think that maybe that was a mistake whitelist, crappy drivers.
