  1. Hi all ! I need advice for the dual PSU mod of a friend. He test the mod on an m18x r2 (3740 Qs unlock + 780m SLI) and can't pass more 480w in charge :/ He set 1.1v on the 780m with Nvidia inspector (no frequency oc), launch Furmark to measuring the consumption, it display arround 450-480w, with Trottlestop on. -If he unplug a PSU (n°1 or n°2, tested both) the system shutdown, so the dual mod seems to work... -If while Furmark run he launch a CPU test, the system shutdown or don't consume more... On the 3d Mark test he don't consume more than 450w too. For me the dual PSU mod is ok otherwise the 18" should not turn off when you disconnect one of the PSU. But why he can't pass 500w in charge...that is the question... Sorry for my bad English, have a nice week end
  2. Hi all Thanks Onyoto, the tip work, i copy my mess from NBR if it could help anyone ^^ Hello all I have a 4900mq QS in my 18", which replace the original 4700mq. I OC only with XTU usual. This morning i want to OC with the same settings Mr.Fox have posted in fist page, just 3.8GHz (for beginning) on all cores instead of 4.3GHz, not extreme series :/ And set the power / turbo time at max. After reboot, i had a black screen, with keyboard back light and led ok Not possible to restart it... I put the 4700mq and magic, boot ok After reset the bios in performance options, i reassemble the 4900mq and boot ok. I do that two times, the first i put the 4700mq the pc boot but i haven't reset the bios before reassemble the 4900mq and the screen stay black... Two users on P4G french forum (4700 and 4900mq CPU) had motherboard switched for that problem. Switch CPU to another seems to operate. If it could help anyone
  3. Ok, i was thinking you talk about problem with the bios..."electrical flaw" I have modified the bios (A02) to get the "+2 additional coefficients" (4700mq), increase "PWR limit" and "Long duration Time Window" like this : After reboot, i launch XTU (latest) and apply this settings : Finally the CPU stop throttle in charge (OCCT and Cinebench), how you can see on this screens : My AW is running fine like this but three users had problem, few days after, their AW won't post, black screen (of death)...Their AW was running top since a morning it wont post. One of them have the A00 bios, other don't know for the moment. Dell had change the motherboard for one of them, the other are waiting for... Do you (or other) know if there is a problem with OC'ing by the bios ? With the settings ? Users had problems here ? I can open a new post if you don't want i explain here, i can link the topic i have done too Thanks all for help or info !
  4. Hi all, First sorry for my bad english :/ I have a question about your post, could you explain me about the current flaw on the AW 18" ? Or link a topic who talk about that ? I search on google and TI forum but i cant't found anything...
