  1. Have you done a CMOS reset? If the flash completed and loaded up windows it should not be bricked.

Reset the cmos but still not working. Sent it away for repair. May not be the bios, could be a hardware fault.

  2. but the gt70 20d versión only have 1 versión of bios realesed, why did you update?, and you use some bios update true Windows or dos?, can you explain how you update the bios, pd: did you try a ec reset or bios reset?, regards

Update was supposed to improve hybrid power performance and battery life but laptop bricked. In process of doing an RMA with MSI.

  3. beemerboy can i ask you if you get the nb initialy with that problem?, also if you hear the beeps when you try the blind flash, regards

It was ok until i updated the bios (i've always done it on laptops and never had a problem before). Followed correct procedure on msi website and used correct bios. Flash completed ok and then it loaded up windows. But failed to start when i rebooted.

No beeps when i try to blind flash. Nothing on screen. Computer doesn't access the usb. Been trying all day.

  4. hello I have a GT70 20D-039US and there's a problem with the uefi bios so computer just has a blank screen. No bios access or boot options. Fan spins. I am trying to do a blind flash to recover it but it wont work. This is what I've done. 1. downloaded the correct raid bios file E1763IMS.707, 2. renamed it to AMIBOOT.ROM, 3. copied it to fat32 formatted usb2 stick, 4. pressed ctrl & home key on power on. Nothing happens. Usb led does not flash. Also tried a cd. Am I doing anything wrong? What's the correct method?. Thank you.

    Note:

Does anyone know where i can buy a new motherboard from?.

  5. You can't set it to the turbo boost speeds? That means you can only get it to run at 100% of the base speed (e.g. if the processor is rated for 2.4-3.4 ghz, it can only run at 2.4?) Unless i'm misunderstanding what turbo boost does exactly...

I was reading a thread on throttle stop and it said that if you set the multiplier to one more than the default it goes to turbo boost mode?

Prema : Oh okay. What do you mean by hardcoding?

I may be wrong. Best to just try it and see.

  6. Well...that wont work because it's the CPU fan that is doing this, not the GPU. The GPU is asleep by default as the laptop uses the integrated graphics.

I was hoping to get Prema to respond to see if theres a way to edit the fan profiles on his custom bios/EC....

Alternatively i suppose i could try forcing the processor to run full speed so that it runs hotter even when under no or light load. Any ideas on how to do that? But that will probably shorten the processor life right?

Use throttlestop or modify the cpu settings in the power profiles.

  7. i for one am using my laptop at work every day and ive yet had to encounter a situation where it was SO quiet that u would even notice the fans at all during idle. i mean, seriously, when is it ever so quiet in an office that one could hear a needle drop on the floor? cuz thats exactly what it would take to hear the fans at idle... imho its all about perspective. just dont make the mistake to actively listen and concentrate on the fans! who does that, anyways? i for one have way better things to do at work than that ;)

Seems alot of people listen to the fans otherwise threads like these wouldn't exist. If you have nothing constructive to say then don't bother posting.

  8. Its the on off cycling of the fans on idle on some clevos that can be annoying (p series in my experience). If gaming then louds fans are expected and shouldn't be of a concern. But If you want to also use it in a quiet office as an everyday pc then the cycling may become tedious.

  9. Hi, thanks for the suggestion. I went ahead and applied a larger voltage increase (+75mV), but GPU-z still shows 1.012v under load. I can see that the core and memory slider increases are being applied, but so far voltage seems to stay the same.

The modded bios is still great, though. I noticed that if I back down a lot on the memory (to just +100), I can get +150MHz stable on the core, which is something I couldn't do before.

  10. I saw this 220 watts on delta electronics inc. Same manufacturer with the original ac adapters for MSI GT 60/70 series...

    180watts

Welcome to Delta Electronics, Inc. - Power Management

    220 watts

Welcome to Delta Electronics, Inc. - Power Management

Question.. If i want to upgrade my mobile cpu to Extreme series.. Is the 220 watts sufficient? Because my gpu now is 680M. And is this adapter compatible with the NB? I can see same specs though .. Only there's a slight difference in Output rating.. 12v/15a (180watts) vs 12v/18.3a(220watts) plus the connector is atx for 220watts is there a converter for this one?

Sorry for this noob question... Thanks

get yourself a dell 240w psu. no need to mod it. just buy this adaptor X75 Power Connector - 7.4 x 5.08mm Female Jack to 5.5 x 2.5mm Male Plug

  11. Which vbios are you talking about?

And no, that tool is a bad idea, it has issues and might brick your card when used with the vbios posted here.

I have a vbios that has the 135 oc limit took off. Now I can set the overclock slider to +600 max if I want but card only goes to 993 core max even though slider is set higher. with the vbios posted here what core clocks can you get up to.

  12. clevos have a lot of problems with fans cycling on and off all the time at low temps which is very annoying. updating to latest ec firmware can improve things. In the end I got rid of my p150hm because of the fans. now got an msi gt70 which only has one fan and the noise is barely audible on normal usage and not that loud in games.
