A question about display

Hi guys, I have an eGPU project, but I'm limited on budget.

Here is my -planned- rig:

2013 rMBP w/ GT750M(ME294)

Akitio Thunder2

Corsair CX430

EVGA GTX 970 *insert any model here*

So the question is, will I be able to run this rig with the internal display, and I really don't want to buy a monitor. Some peeps wrote about Nvidia Optimus, but I don't know what it is. So If you can explain, or drop a link about optimus-internal monitor relation, that would be great.

Addition: I will run the system on Windows 10, or downgrade to 8.1 depending on your answer.

Hi TYRTlive, u can use internal display only on Windows, u must run windows 8.1 it is more stable.
