Hey guys,

I am new to this eGPU scene and would like to get some information as I am planing to make eGPU setup for my MBPr. Part list:

Late 2012 MBPr

ASUS GeForce GTX 750 TI

AKiTiO Thunder2

External PSU

My concern is that my GPU has 6pin connector. So I will conect 6pin conector from PSU to GPU and thats it? And how do I turn on the PSU? I think I missing something. Could you please help. Thank you!

My thoughts:

Why do want to use a 750Ti with 6-Pin? You can also use one without (like the one fan EVGA GTX 750Ti cards) and just use a bigger PSU to provide all power through the barrel plug. In theory it should work. (12V - 120W - 2.5x5.5mm barrel plug).

If you want to use a PC PSU with that 6-Pin GPU you need to apply the "paper clip trick".

Please read my basic guide: http://forum.techinferno.com/diy-e-gpu-projects/10061-basic-egpu-hardware-guide-macs.html
