Ddragggon
First up, I tried posting this in the Clevo forums, and it wouldn't allow me to make any posts there. sorry if this is in the wrong place.... Before I invest the money to purchase a pair of new video cards to replace the tired old 280M's I have, I wanted to see if I could find a VBIOS that would function with my laptop and these video cards. I haven't found more than a handful of posts that mention this particular laptop, so I'm going with the idea its more rare than I initially thought. First up, is there a vbios that matches the 780M series of cards I could just use? if not, who would I need to bribe to make one? second up, if there is a vbios for 780M cards, will it function with my laptop, or will I have to do something else to make it work? Thanks in advance for any help on this. I appreciate it.
Khenglish
I think the best you can do is either the 680m, or v1.2 7970m, and I'm not sure that even those will work. In the case of the later nehalem based systems the 7970m required a specific vBIOS and a specific EC on the system BIOS to work, which may be the same for yours if it can work at all. People have run the 670mx though here, so if that works then the 680m should work. The only "older" laptop model the 780m has ever worked on is the P150EM/P170EM, and that required system BIOS mods.
