Is thunderbolt 2 or akitio a bottleneck?

Hi,

I am considering buying a 15" macbook pro , I will be dual booting windows (for gaming) and using OS x for my daily driver. The quad core processor should help somewhat with bottlenecking (come on dx12!) but I am wondering how much of a bottleneck thunderbolt 2 itself will be using akitio?

If I were to use a gtx 970/980/980ti what effective % of the gpu power will I receive compared to using it in a desktop? If I also install/modify whatever drivers etc are required to run Cuda on OS x will I have full use of CUDA in lightroom / premier pro? I would like to use (and game) on an external monitor on either 1440p/4k is there any additional overhead by doing this generated? If so is it possible to just render the OS using the iGPU and use the eGPU specifically for games / lightroom etc?

Apologies for the novice questions I just want to make sure I have all areas covered as my (potential) purchase rests on this working !

I will be buying the IRIS pro model and no mobile gpu.
